Wild Wednesday is about all the crazy or unbelievable things that have happened in the last week to me, in the news, pop culture, etc.
Since last Wednesday here is what has happened:
- My neighbor had her baby yesterday! I am so excited. When I showed S a picture, he said, “So cute, I can’t wait to meet her.” He then promptly asked, “How did she come out? Did they have to cut her out?” The only thing I could think to say was, “Kind of,” and quickly changed the subject. Too much information for a 5 year old.
- We went to S’s parent teacher conferences last week. S got pretty good reviews. The one issue is he has problems staying on task and completing his assignments. No kidding, have you met his parents? That is the definition of B and me. We start something and somehow move on to the next project before we finish what we were doing. If it is too hard we move on to something easier. Why in the world would our child be just like us? (Hint of sarcasm.)
- P is crazy still with going to sleep. She refuses to take her morning nap (but secretly her body still wants it and tries), and doesn’t want the afternoon nap. She has been crying it out for her afternoon nap the past few days, but she only sleeps for an hour and half or so. At bed time I give her a bottle and then her binky. When I am rocking her I usually tell her “night, night.” The minute I utter a word she starts crying immediately. She knows when I talk, rocking time is over and she has to go in her bed. She usually cries for a few minutes and then is out. Why cry the entire time in the morning instead of napping, cry for almost an hour before her afternoon nap and only a few minutes before bedtime. What is the difference? She is so weird!
- S had to disguise his Tom the Turkey for class. I talked him into making it SpongeBob. Really, I decorated a cake before to look like SpongeBob and it is just a bunch of shapes. So we made SpongeBob and I would say S did 95% of it. I had to help him with holding papers while he cut them, and we used a bunch of my scrapbook tools, but it looks pretty good.
- P has taken to throwing a cup she has in the bath out of the bathtub the past few nights and it is full of water. Of course, it promptly soaks the floor and I have to clean it up or ask B to. Last night I heard her do it as I was grabbing her towel and yelled her name. S said what, went running into the bathroom (nosy kid) to see what she did, and proceeded to wipe out on the floor. The bathtub stopped him from sliding any further. I was laughing hysterically, he was crying. Not because he was hurt but because his pants got wet and he wanted dry pants put on. I told him to just take them off; he was getting a shower in 5 minutes. He told me he couldn’t walk around in his boxers (like it would be indecent). Of course, this makes me laugh even more which makes him even more upset. He ended up just going to get a shower so he didn’t have to walk around in his boxers.
