The uKloo Early Reader Treasure Hunt Game is perfect for S right now. He is learning to read at school and has become really interested in sounding out words. He wants to read on his own so badly. With this game I was able to play with him and he didn’t even realize he was reading words.
I set up the beginner cards so that S had to follow the instructions on the card to find the next card and so on until he finds his prize. I had him looking in the fridge next to the milk, in the kitchen sink, in the bathroom, by the TV and more.
When he finally found his Surprise card under it I had stashed a Starburst. He loved playing the game and has asked to play it daily since that first time. He learned to read the word look the first time we played the game and now always points it out to me when we are reading at bedtime. How awesome is it that he is learning to read from a game he enjoys playing.
