Today I turn 35. When in the world did I get this old? I can think of every birthday when there was some major milestone. Somehow I thought when I turned 35 things would be different.
When I was:
- 2 my little sister was born the day after my birthday.
- 5 I started Kindergarten without my twin because she was sick and stayed home the first day of school.
- 8 I moved to a new city, started a new school, and my mom got married to my stepdad (dad).
- 16 I got my driver’s license.
- 18 I started college and then dropped out one week later because I wasn’t ready. I got a job.
- 21 I officially had my first drink of alcohol and hated it. It was also my first birthday I celebrated with B. B and I had our first baby a cute little fluffy kitty, Neezer, who turned into a 25 lb beast.
- 22, B and I had our second baby, a little white and black puppy we got when she was only 3 weeks old. We also got engaged on my birthday.
- 23, B and I flew to Hawaii and got married. I graduated with my bachelor degree from UT. We got our third baby a cute black fluffy terrier, Derby.
- 26 we bought the house we currently live in and I started my first real job in the HR field.
- 29 S was born and my entire world changed. I also quit my job and became a stay-at-home mom. We got PJ when S was four months old.
- 33 I found out unexpectedly that I was pregnant and later year we had P. I thought my world changed when S was born, I was way wrong it really changed when P was born.
- 34 S started preschool
I had no idea when I turned 35 that in the past year my mom would leave (just packed a bag and left), my parents getting a divorce, my cat, Neezer who was 13 died, and Derby, who was 10, died the night before P’s birthday. I can say it was a pretty crappy year. But with bad also comes good.
P had her 1st birthday and it was so much fun, B got the boat running and we took P out for the first time, and S started Kindergarten.
Today I turned 35 and I am spending the day home with P, and when S gets home it will be me and the kids. B picked up overtime and then is getting forced over an extra 4 hours. So by the time he gets home the kids will be in bed and I will be tuckered out and possibly even in bed myself.
Happy belated birthday. That is a great list to keep. I have no idea what happened certain years without really thinking. I turned 40 this year and so far its just like every other year. While my birthday is my favorite holiday we don’t really do big celebrations or anything. I like to just have a normal day but know that it is my day 🙂 I know crazy but I like it.
