Thursday Treats

Thursday Treats is all about the best things I have had happen in the past week as far as good things, good foods, awesome finds at stores, great TV shows, etc.

  • Although this wasn’t a treat I did find it really funny.  Our neighbors with “the boys” (that is what S calls them); I have always told them if they miss the bus come over and I will take them to school.  Yesterday I was still in bed with S watching TV and the doorbell rings at 8:35am.  I told S we had to check it out in case it was one of ‘the boys’ and it was.  He missed his bus, so I got dressed quick; S dressed, started the car and loaded them both in a super cold van.  The temp said -3°, and that car was cold.  We turn onto our street and what is in front of us……..the bus.  He totally didn’t miss his bus.  I am not sure if it was running late, or the other kids that usually stand at the bus stop were in their houses watching for the bus.  He didn’t see anyone and waited for a few minutes and figured he missed the bus.  He felt bad and I just laughed and thought it was so funny and so him!
  • Today is Thursday when I usually make my weekly trip to Target.  I wasn’t going to go because I have bought S so many clothes this week that he needs nothing for the next size up (except shoes).  Then I see on Hip2Save the Pamper diapers that were on clearance went 50% off and just over $10/box.  Now I feel like I need to go and see if I can find any diapers for the new baby.  That is one heck of a deal and if I use coupons on top of that it is a steal of a deal.
  • I am taking S to zoo school today and hope it is not going to be nearly as cold as it was yesterday.  If it is decent out today I plan on taking some spray paint and painting snowmen on the huge piles of snow in our cul-de-sac with S.  One pile is so big it is taller than the plow truck.  If we get out I will be sure to show some pics on Foto Friday.
  • S and I went to Kohl’s yesterday and I put him in charge of the cart.  His job was to push the cart around while I looked through the clearance racks. He did awesome in charge of the cart and I was able to find him tons of pajamas and some shirts on clearance for great deals.  It was nice he was with me to tell me if he liked the pajamas himself.  I thought he would love a pair with a realistic grizzly bear on it and he totally didn’t.  He said it was too scary to sleep in.  Glad I didn’t waste the money.  I love that he can tell me what he does and doesn’t like before I buy things.  He also helped pick out a few things for the new baby.  A few items I wanted to get he said were for boys and I couldn’t get them.
  • S was adventurous last night with dinner and tried some new combinations.  He ate a bacon and cheese quesadilla and a bacon, egg, and cheese quesadilla.  He also ate some hash browns that we told him were mini French fries that were cut up.  I so love when he tries new combinations of food.  No matter how much I tried he would not take a bite of scrambled egg by itself.  One step at a time.
  • S finally let me cut his hair last night, so we will be making Valentine’s Day cookies today or tomorrow as a reward!

What good things have you been treated to you this week?

Thursday Thoughts

Although I do Thursday Treats, it is pretty similar to Jen at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom‘s Thursday Thoughts, so I am linking up with her today.
