Target once again offered a beauty box for only $5 with free shipping. As soon as I saw this I jumped at it again and could not wait to get it in the mail. Last year’s box had a value of over $20, so I knew I would not be disappointed with this years. I only wish they offered it on a quarterly or monthly basis, because I would totally subscribe for it.
I received my box last Monday and just have not had a chance to review it. I placed the order on 3/3, and it gave me a delivery date of 3/12-3/17. Then on 3/11, I got an email saying my shipment would be delayed and would not arrive until 3/21-3/25. Okay, so I was a little bummed, but figured everyone is ordering it so I can understand the delay. Well to my surprise when I opened my mailbox on Monday 3/17 the box was sitting in my mailbox. Woo hoo, I was so excited I opened it up right away.
The packaged came shrink wrapped and had a shell on the outside of the box with the Bullseye logo all over it.
The inside box was again all white and thick so it could be used again for another gift. There was also red tissue paper wrapping up all the goodies. When I opened the tissue paper I loved what I was seeing.
When I took a first glance at the products in the box I was happy to see three full-size items and two trial size items. No little samples in this box.
Included in the box was an information card that gave some detailed information about each product. On the information card was also a coupon for $3 off a beauty purchase of $15 or more, and does not expire until 6/30/2014.
L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara-Black ($7.99)-This mascara is supposed to stretch and lengthen lashes for a fluttery-winged outlook and a revolutionary asymmetrical Butterfly Brush. I am very curious to try this mascara. I think the brush may give me some trouble, and I am bummed it is not waterproof.
Covergirl Smoochies Sizzle Gloss-Date Night ($4.99)-The lip gloss has a sheer shimmer with a moisturizing formula that is never sticky. To my surprise when I tried this gloss it went on nice and was not sticky. It also had a flavor/scent to it that I would say was vanilla. It could just be because it was white/clear that I associated vanilla but it definitely had a sweet scent.
Toni&Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturizing Spray 2.5 fl.oz. ($4.99)-This spray will give you a beachy look without having to go to the actual beach and deal with all the sand. I could not believe how easy it was to use this. I simply sprayed it on dry hair and scrunched my hair. It definitely gave the beachy look. I am not really a fan of the dirty hair look so I think I will pass this along. I like my hair to have a clean feel to it so I can run my fingers through it.
Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo 1.7 oz. ($4.99 for full size 4.9 oz./about $1.70 for trial size)-I have never tried dry shampoo but always wanted to. This dry shampoo is paraben and colorant-free formula made with natural tapioca to instantly absorb excess oil with less residue. I was really happy with the results of this dry shampoo. It is not something I would use every day but will definitely keep it around for those days when we wake up late and there is no time to get a shower before we leave.
Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream-All Light Skin Tones 2 fl. oz. ($11.99 for full-size 7.5 fl. oz./about $3.20 for trial size)-The cream is a quick-drying formula that goes on and delivers visible results in just 5 days. I am not really too into BB Cream, so I am going to pass this on to one of my sisters.
All in all, I love this Target Beauty Box and would definitely subscribe to this monthly, quarterly, whatever they decided. This box only cost $5 and only counting the 3 products that are sold in the sizes given the total would be $17.97. Including all 5 products the total was $22.87. The mascara, sea salt texturing spray or lip gloss alone was the cost of the box, and makes this whole thing worth it. Would I buy these items for myself normally? No, but this gives me a chance to try new items I would never try on my own. If you are interested in learning more about the Target Beauty Box, click here. Unfortunately, it is sold out, but sometimes they release more boxes, so you never know.
