Target 70% Summer Clearance Finds-Round 1

After reading a few posts Sunday morning, some were reporting that the summer clearance went 70% off.  I really wanted to get some hooded towels for S to use at bathtime so I convinced him to go to the store with me.  I didn’t need a lot of extras so I only picked up a few items.  I will go back when it is 90% and see if I can get some good deals on noodles and placemats.  There might also be some odds and ends if I can find any.  This year there was not nearly as much clearance as there has been in years past.  For example, last year all the snow cone makers and accessories went on clearance this year they are not part of the clearance.  I think Target is finally catching on and reducing the amount they are buying and what they are putting on clearance.  At any rate I was able to get all of this for only $36.69.  I knew if I waited until everything was 90% off I would not be able to get the hooded towels.

  • There were quite a few hooded towels left which really surprised me.  I got three starfish, one mermaid and one wavy towel.  No I won’t have S use the mermaid towel (unless he wants too), but decided to go ahead and get them for when P gets older.  I could have gone crazy but held back and did not buy all the hooded towels.  I think there were like six left on the shelf after I was done.

  • Other than swimmies this was the only inflatable that I could find.  I was hoping to find a few tubes or other fun items.  S really wanted the big fish or shark to play on, but I never saw them at our store. (We spotted them at other Targets.)  The surfboard was only $1.49.  We went from Target to my mom’s and S used this right away in the pool.  It was a big hit with him and he loved it.

  • We still walked the whole store to see if we could find any other good clearance deals.  I found two more Skylander hooded towels for S at $4.48 each.  He was so excited about the red turtle towel (he has no idea what Skylander is).  We just happen to see the Nemo towel lying around and picked it up for only $3.28.

My 4 YO son is obsessed with that ride on shark. I picked itup at 50% along with the fish. We haven’t made it to the pool but he insisted on blowing them up so currently they are on my living room floor. Haven’t had a chance to check out 70% but will tomorrow.

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
