Surgery Progress/Update

I had carpal tunnel surgery this past Friday on my left hand and am currently out of commission.  I am typing this with only one hand so it is taking forever.  By far this surgery recovery has been more difficult than any other.  Childbirth, labor, hysterectomy, and right hand carpal tunnel were not nearly as painful.  I have no idea why this hurts so much more but it does.

I have had to take twice as much pain pills.  The prescription says 1-2 every four hours and I have had to take two.  I have never needed to take more than one.  Even with me taking the higher dose it has alleviated some of the pain but it has never gone away.

Sunday I was supposed to take my bandage off and change the dressing.  It definitely had a pressure bandage and when we cut it the pain released was unbearable.  The dressing was stuck to the stitches and it pulled on them when B cut.  It was so bad we wrapped what was left of the bandage in an ace wrap and decided to try again Monday or go to the doctor’s and let him take it off.  We tried again yesterday and after I covered my mouth because I was screaming so bad we got the bandage off.  It looks grizzly.  I’m going to spare you the pictures.  We got it wrapped up again and here I am typing with one hand.

This post took me about 25 minutes to type so they will be few and far between (It normally would have taken about 5-10 minutes).  Hope to see you guys soon!
