S had quite a busy summer. With all the running around he has done this summer he has not gained an ounce. S has been growing like a weed and has grown over a half an inch in the past three months. He has gotten used to having a little sister around. He doesn’t always enjoy it, but has grown accustomed. The only time he really becomes annoyed with P is when she is crying. He will usually groan and ask me to make P stop crying.
S broke into playing sports this summer and really enjoyed it. He played tee ball in the rec program every Wednesday at 9am. It does seem early but it was great to beat the heat. He had a ton of fun. S has always been good at hitting the ball off a tee so that part he had mastered. When it came to fielding a ball, we had to start from scratch. After some practice with Grandma G and me he got the hang of it. As all little kids do the entire team ran for every ball so I had to install in him to stand on the other side of the field where the kids are not. This helped him to be able to actually field balls. His goal was to get one ball per game and after a few weeks he managed to do that every game. S also went to a soccer camp every Friday afternoon where the high school soccer players would teach the kids basic skills. S loved swimming this summer. After one day of swimming with his cousins and L he was a jumping fool. He was all about doing a smacker any way possible, face, back, or side. It opened a whole new side of S and I loved watching him swim for hours.
We went on a family vacation with my entire side of the family. My parents rented a cottage on Lake Erie and we spent the better part of a week there. S had a great time playing on the beach. He loved being able to wake up in the morning and have his cousins to play with right there. During that week vacation we went home a few times so S could go to his first Monster Truck show and the Demolition Derby. He absolutely loves cars of any kind.
We got S’s fall pictures done. He chose to be a ghost this year for Halloween. We looked through many pictures to figure out what kind of ghost S wanted to be. He finally decided he wanted to dress up like the ghost from It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Since we were going with that theme of ghost I decided to do his other picture of him in a pumpkin patch like Linus did. S was all for hiding P in the background of his picture as a pumpkin. It turned out so good. I hope you enjoy the pictures!
Those pumpkin pictures are sooooooo cute. I love that P is popping up in the background. We didn’t really get any good pumpkin pictures this year since it was so hot when we went but I’m hoping to dress the boys tonight and take them out in the yard for some good costume pictures before we do the craziness tomorrow night.
