S has really grown in the past three months. Preschool has made such a difference. He loves to go to school and is eager to tell us what he has learned. He now recognizes quite a few letters, can write his name in capital letters, and many other letters. I don’t know if S is able to read/recognize words or if it is pure luck sometimes. S has really grown quite a bit in the past year. He has gained 3 lbs and just shy of 3 inches.
Papa got in a motorcycle accident at the end of September and it has really caused concern for S. He always is asking how he is and wants to see him as much as possible. With my dad being off of work recovering, S has really been spoiled spending time with him. One day we were watching Railroad Alaska on TV and S had so many questions we ended up going to my parents so he could sit with Papa and ask him questions. It was so funny.
S played soccer this fall and loved it. He loved running around on the field trying to kick the ball. They don’t keep score or anything, but S did manage to score one goal this season. He talks about wanting to play again, so I guess we will have to see if he plays in the spring. S played outside as much as he could this past fall. He has definitely mastered riding a bike and loves to ride around the cul-de-sac. S had a great time this Halloween and loved being a ghost. He didn’t really care about getting the candy. We did go trick-or-treating to a few houses but ultimately S wanted to go back to grandma’s and hand out candy.
The Christmas season was a huge hit with S this year. He loves going to see Santa and takes the Elf visiting us very seriously. Every morning in December S would get up and hunt for that elf (Chippy). For S’s birthday he chose to go to Kalahari. He loves the waterpark and celebrating his birthday there. We were able to surprise him and have his cousin L come up to the waterpark for the day and play with him. They both will tell you the other is its best friend and they had a ball going down the slides and playing in the water. The next morning we had S’s birthday breakfast and went back to the waterpark for more play. We all tried boogie boarding and it was fun. S was really good at it and liked doing it. He has been talking about it non-stop and wants to do it again.
S decided to wait for a day to have his birthday party so we could go to a ceremony awarding the police officer who saved Papa’s life. It was a very touching thing for him to decide. The next night we had a birthday party with a racetrack cake and daddy gave barrel train rides to the kids. He got quite a few gifts and loved everything he got. He got a Planes jacket and loved it so much we got his birthday pictures in it.
