The Pratico Large Ice Cube Mold makes four large ice cubes using a silicone mold. Each ice cute is 2 ½” on each side. The silicone trays are BPA-free and covered by Pratico Kitchen’s lifetime no-hassle warranty. If anything happens they will replace it free of charge.
I have been using silicone ice cube molds to freeze baby food for P and smoothie cubes for S. The current ones I have are only one inch. These were two and half times as big. So I am no stranger to the silicone molds and how to freeze them. You really need to freeze them on a flat surface or a cookie sheet (that is what I use).
For me this was like the jumbo size ice cube. I really questioned if it would even fit in my cup. Instead we decided to make ice cube pops. S has been seeing them doing it on TV and keeps asking to make them. This was the perfect opportunity. We poured the flavored water into the molds, covered it with cling wrap and poked tooth picks through wrap to create the popsicle sticks.
After a few days we unmolded the cubes with no problem. Unfortunately, the cubes were too big for the toothpicks and the picks broke. We ended up making a slushy of all of the cubes and enjoyed the nice treat. When we were done, the ice cube mold went in the dishwasher and came clean when it was done.
