Piper 10 Month Update

Piper 10 Month Update (February 17, 2015-March 16, 2015)

Every month of Piper’s first year I will do a monthly update along with showing her pictures I get done every month.  Again I got these pictures done on time; I just never got around to posting the update.  This month we got there Easter pics done.  They did a great job posing for their pics.

Current Weight: 20.5 lbs

Weight last month: 18 lbs 10 oz

Current Length: 27 ½ in

Length last month:  27 ¼ in

P got her fourth tooth this month.  She now has two teeth on the top and two on the bottom.  A few weeks later she got her fifth and ended the month with three on top and two on the bottom.  Those are some sharp little teeth.  She can bite really hard on your fingers if you let her.  P can now pull herself up to a standing position.  So she can crawl, stand up, and sit if you put her in that position.  She cannot figure out how to get in the sitting position on her own or how to sit down when she is standing.  She will usually start crying for one of us to sit her down when she is done standing.  She goes from a crawling position and without bending her knees will get up into a standing position.  The very last day of the your 10th month you rode in S’s truck for the first time with him and absolutely loved it.

P finally graduated from her baby bathtub in the kitchen sink to a laundry basket in the tub. She is not quite stable enough to sit on her own in the tub, but does great in a basket.  She will sit and splash the water forever.  No matter how long we let her play in the water she still cries when we get her out of the water.  P is also a little speed demon in her walker.  She mastered how to move forward in it and now runs around the island like crazy.

P’s schedule is still pretty much the same as last month, which is great for me because I don’t usually have to guess what she wants.  We have started to introduce new veggies and fruit to her.  She really likes beets and strawberries.  While she is not a fan of ground turkey yet, she loves the homemade chicken noodle soup B made that we mashed up for her.  She does not like any kinds of food in chunks.  The pieces of carrot in the chicken noodle soup mash she spit right out.  P finally figured out how to eat Rice Krispies (she kept choking on Cheerios).  By the end of the month she was able to eat Cheerios with both meals.

Her daily schedule consists of the following:

  • Waking up between 8am-10am, and maybe nursing.
  • Nursing and then a short nap two hours after she wakes up so sometime usually between 10am-11am.
  • Lunch at noon- Cheerios, 2 oz of breastmilk with oatmeal cereal (instead of rice cereal) and 2 oz of fruit.
  • Nursing and nap about three hours after you wake up from morning nap sometime between 2pm and 4pm. Usually a 2-3 hour nap.
  • Playing after she wake up until dinner time.
  • Dinner at 6pm-Cheerios, 2 oz of breastmilk with rice cereal and 2 oz of veggies.
  • Bath and bedtime between 8-9pm.
  • Nurse before bed and then usually every 4-5 hours at night. Have started to sleep most of the night in her crib but the last few hours in the morning are with mommy in bed.
