I breastfed both of my kids until they were one. That means for two years of my life I was wearing nursing bras and had to use nursing pads. With S I just used disposable pads and never thought twice about it. With P I used disposable pads but also invested in washable nursing pads.
The washable nursing pads I bought were made of 7 layers of flannel. All the reviews said they were awesome and they never leaked. For me they did. I would wake up with wet pajamas and after that happened a few times I never wore the washable nursing pads during the day.
Although I am done with breastfeeding I feel like I am a pretty good judge of what a good nursing pad would be. The My Baby Bee Nursing Pads are made from bamboo cloth, highly absorbent and hypoallergenic. They are made of 5 layers of bamboo cloth for maximum comfort and flexibility. There is a water resistant layer to prevent against unwanted leakage and stains.
The nursing pads are heavier than I anticipated. Most nursing pads are pretty light like holding a few tissues in your hand. These were like holding a washcloth. I didn’t think they were too heavy to wear and felt like they would prevent leakage, which is the reason why we wear nursing pads. This was an 8-pack which is plenty to get you through till you do laundry again. With a baby you are doing laundry every day if not every other day. I tossed these in the wash with P’s clothes, but wasn’t sure if they could go in the dryer so I hung them dry.
