I tried the yogurt pouches out on P before her party so I could let everyone know how they were and how well she liked them. I am not one for trying new food myself, but did this time. I was curious if it would have a different flavor because it was made with goat milk. It actually didn’t taste like yogurt at all. The pouches tasted more like baby food. I tried the Mango Peach and really liked the flavor. It had a runny consistency which made it super easy to drink right from the pouch. It also had an orange coloring to it. P was confused when she tasted this because it was sweet. I have only given her veggie pouches in the past so she was surprised by the sweet taste.
I have been mixing fruit, yogurt, and oatmeal cereal for P’s lunch. Instead of mixing fruit and yogurt I substituted that for one of the Kabrita Goat Milk Yogurt pouches. I mixed the Mango Peach pouch with some oatmeal cereal and P loved it. By the way she ate it you wouldn’t have been able to tell I substituted the pouch for her regular fruit and yogurt. She did not like the Bananas and Vanilla or Mixed Berry.
I bribed S to try these for check marks toward his visit to Chuck E. Cheese. He liked the Mango Peach and Mixed Berry, but did not like the Bananas and Vanilla. I got him to try them right out of the box and from the fridge cold. He did not like any of them cold from the fridge, but liked them out of the box at room temperature.
I could not believe how much yogurt they sent me. There were 126 pouches between the three favors. If I gave these to P alone we would be set for over four months. I decided to put these out for all the kids to try at P’s birthday party. I mean there were going to be kids of all ages there and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to see what age groups would be willing to try it and who would like it. Unfortunately, most of the kids were immediately turned off by them because it said goat’s milk on it. The minute they heard goat’s milk most of the kids made a face and refused to try it. For the little ones who didn’t know any better they willingly tried them. It was split down the middle 50/50 if the kids liked them or didn’t like them.
My overall opinion of the Kabrita Goat’s Milk Yogurt Pouches is that they tasted okay. I am not a huge fan of yogurt and did not mind these at all. They did not have that yogurt flavor and had more of a baby food taste. B will usually try everything for me, and would not try any of the pouches. It really was a hit or miss on whether the kids liked the yogurt pouches or not. Here were a few different opinions the kids had:
- They refused to taste the pouches because it had Goat’s Milk in the title
- They loved the pouches and sucked down each flavor no problem
- Some babies liked a few of the flavors and did not like the other flavors
- Some babies refused to even any of the yogurt pouches
- One baby happily sucked down each yogurt pouch she was given and was begging for more
