Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week. Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans. Since I now have two little ones to take care of I am going to post weekly goals for myself to try to hold myself accountable. I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.
This Week
Let me just start off by saying this week is running away from me. Between S being off, B being off a few days, and P being sick (nasty cold) I have not had a chance to even get to my regular post. I am still around, but P seems to wake up every time I sit down at the computer.
My Weekly Goals-Hit up Target when the Easter clearance goes 70% off (I am guessing Thursday for us).
Monday-We are just hanging out at home. B is sleeping in this morning and then has to work tonight.
Tuesday-No plans just hanging out at home during the day. I am going to a painting class in the evening with my sisters and neighbor.
Wednesday-I need to run to Costco and get the kids spring cards/pictures to send out. Otherwise it looks like it is going to be nice outside.
Thursday-I am running to Target when I get up if P cooperates and will stay home with B. I may even run to a second Target if the Easter clearance is 70% off. I am looking for stuff to help make decorations for P’s birthday party.
Friday-B is working so I have no plans other than hanging out at home.
Saturday-There is a build at Home Depot in the morning for S. We have a wedding in the afternoon and then will come home for a few hours before the wedding reception. B has to work so we are waiting at home for him before we go to the reception.
Sunday-Today will be a catch-up day to ensure we have all of S’s homework done for school and hopefully the kids will sleep in. I am hoping Easter clearance does not go 90% until tomorrow because B is working today but off tomorrow.
Last Week Recap
It actually ended up being a really busy week for us. I never got the Shutterfly book done I was trying to finish. P had other ideas for me when I would sit down to do it after she went to sleep.
Monday we made the royal icing frosting to decorate our Easter cookies. Otherwise we just hung out at home.
Tuesday we decorated all the Easter cookies and they turned out great. I love the way the designs turned out and plan on making more cookies again. I think the next will be for P’s birthday.
Wednesday we had the twins come spend the day with us. S loved it and hated when he had to stop playing to go to school. They played a ton after school and we celebrated Easter with my side of the family. We had chicken shish kabobs courtesy of B and an awesome egg hunt with the kids. Each kid gets their own color of egg so B could hide them with a difficulty level by age. P’s were super easy to find, while the twins had to really hunt for those. My poor niece had a thief and the squirrel took one of her eggs. We found the remnants of the egg and candy wrapper.
Thursday we hung out at home and I went to see my new niece in the evening. I brought my niece (F) home with me from the hospital and she spent the night. S loves to play with her and was so excited to have a sleepover with her.
Friday was a day of hanging out at home and playing. The twins came over again to play with S and F. They had a blast and played all day until till my sister got home from the hospital with the new baby and F went home. P never took a nap the entire day. I thought for sure she would pass out in the car but she never did. We came home had dinner and an early night for P.
Saturday we went out to Whitehouse and did an egg hunt with my aunt and uncle. The town does a cute little egg hunt. P was confused and thought she could only get the yellow eggs because of Wednesday so she only got two eggs in her hunt. S did better and now that P knew we stood off to the side but she did manage to get a few more eggs during his age group hunt. We were going to go to the helicopter egg drop in the evening and decided not to. We stayed home and dyed eggs. It was a much better use of our time.
Sunday we got up and went to the helicopter egg drop. We will be going every Easter Sunday from now on. There was hardly anyone compared to Saturday nights. S filled his bucket up 3+ times and P made a great dent on her wagon adding eggs. I cannot believe how many eggs they got. It was crazy. We went home and had our egg hunt in the backyard with B, Grandma G and Grandpa Bob. After that we went to my aunts for that side of the family egg hunt. It was P’s nap time so I had no idea how she would be. She was the happiest baby ever and was the life of the party. For once she wasn’t clinging to B or me and was entertaining everyone. She crashed almost immediately when we got in the car, but she made it the entire time there and that is all I can ask. We took F (S’s cousin) with us since Baby P was born and my sister stayed home. After P’s nap we played outside until almost 7pm (bedtime) because it was so nice outside. It reached 75° and was sunny all day. We could not have asked for a nicer Easter.
Last Week
My Weekly Goals-There is a code out of for free 8×8 Shutterfly books (code:SPRINGITON) that expires on the 22nd. I really need to work on the books and get them done. Maybe B will give me the time to work on them Monday and Tuesday.
Monday-I need to decorate all the Easter cookies we made yesterday. S is super excited to decorate the different shapes. We have bunny faces, bunnies, small and large eggs.
Tuesday-I am going to decorate the rest of the cookies and finish them.
Wednesday-We are having dinner at our house because the twins are in town and my nieces leave tomorrow for Spring Break. We are going to do a little egg hunt after dinner so S gets to have an egg hunt with some of his cousins since none of them will be here for Easter.
Thursday-It looks like we are hanging out at home today. I will hopefully finish any decorating of the cookies that are still left. There is a special build at Lowe’s to make the Lowe’s Nascar. I will put P to bed and B will take S to it because it doesn’t start until 7pm!
Friday-Every year our zoo does an egg hunt for the animals. I am hoping it won’t be too cold and I plan on taking the kids to watch the animals get their eggs. It is actually really fun to watch the animals discover their eggs.
Saturday-There is an egg hunt out in Whitehouse by my Aunt and Uncles in the morning, and then the helicopter egg drop we have gone to since S was 1 ½ in the evening. S is so excited to show P the helicopter egg drop. I am sure she will love it.
Sunday-B has to work nights this weekend so we are waking him up early (10:30am) to get ready to go to my aunts. First we have to have our egg hunt in the backyard. After my aunts we will hang out at home and hopefully P will take a late nap.
