Manic Monday

Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week. Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans. Since I now have two little ones to take care of I am going to post weekly goals for myself to try to hold myself accountable. I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.

This Week

My Weekly Goals: I want to let S play outside as much as possible, and I would like to get some more clothes posted.

Monday-S has school and then it is supposed to be 65° so we will be spending the whole day outside. I am even going to try to give P her nap outside so S can play out there longer.

Tuesday-We are just hanging out at home.

Wednesday-S has school in the morning, we have a meeting at the union hall for our next Strike Relief fund check, and then I really want to get there Easter/Spring pictures done.

Thursday-Another day of hanging out at home.

Friday-S has school in the morning and then hanging out at home.

Saturday-We are going to my aunt and uncles for their auction. I’m not sure if it is for moral support or because B wants to buy some stuff. I’m going for moral support.

Sunday-We are just going to be hanging out at home again.

Last Week Recap

I didn’t do very well at my goals. I didn’t list anything last week. We did have a pretty quiet week and went to Grand Rapids four times to try to catch the ice breaking. We didn’t get to see it break but we did get to see a ton of it floating down river and over the dam.

Monday S had school in the morning and after school we drove out to Grand Rapids to see if anything was going on with the ice on the river. No change. We hung out the rest of the day at home. While S was in school P and I ran a few errands to Babies R Us and Kohl’s.

Tuesday was quiet. We simply stayed home and played.

Wednesday S had a school delay. After I picked him up from school we went out to Grand Rapids again. The ice had melted more, but was still all ice. We headed home and hung out at home.

Thursday we went to the union hall to get all the free baby stuff that was donated. It was nice outside so after P’s nap we stayed out until it was time for bed.

Friday S had school; we hung out at home and then went to the union hall to eat pizza for dinner. I got a little treat and since B met us at the union hall he took both kids home and I got to ride by myself home. It was a great 15 minutes of silence.

Saturday B had to work so I took S to his build at Lowe’s. He was so excited to build the Monster Truck El Toro Loco. It is his favorite. On the way home we were able to see the ice dams down in Side Cut Park. It was amazing. I have never seen it flooded like that or so much ice built up. As soon as we got home S wanted to build his other Monster Truck Max-D that he never built from a few weeks ago. We heard an alarm in the house. When I walked into the house from the garage it was super loud. I called B and figured out it was the sump pump alarm. With all the snow melting, our sump finally gave out and we started to get water in the basement. Thankfully it was only a tiny amount and B came home to fix it. The rest of the day we hung out at home.

Sunday we got up and went to Grand Rapids to check out the ice at the dam. It had already broken free but we stayed for over a half hour and just watched the huge chunks of ice go over the dam. The lookout that we have stood on every time to go and check out the ice got damaged. There used to be a railing and picnic table and in its place was ice piled super high and the wood railings and posts had been broken by the ice piles. After that we went to visit Uncle F and Aunt D at their new home and then hung out at home the rest of the day. We did manage to sneak out after dinner to play outside for a little while.

Last Week

It is going to be a pretty quiet week for us. We don’t really have anything planned, and B is going to try to work as much as possible do side jobs.

My Weekly Goals: I need to get more items listed for sale on Perrysburg Online Garage Sale and EBay. I’m just going to keep listing items until everything is gone.

Monday-B has his unemployment hearing in the morning. I doubt we will get it but you never know. It is one big group so he doesn’t actually have to do anything the representatives from the union are doing it all. S has school in the morning and I am going to try to run to a few stores while he is in school. He hates to go shopping to more than one store at a time and I need to hit Babies R Us, Kohl’s and Target.

Tuesday-If the weather is even half way warm as predicted (in the 40’s maybe 50), I am going to do my best to get them outside for at least a few hours.

Wednesday-S has school in the morning and then we are just going to be at home the rest of the day.

Thursday-Another day of hanging out at home.

Friday-S has school, then we are going to hang out at home, and if the union is serving something we like, we will go there for dinner.

Saturday-S has a build in the morning at Lowe’s to make the Monster Truck El Toro Loco. This is his all-time favorite. I went to register 3 hours after it opened last Monday and the Perrysburg location was full. I was able to find a spot at another Lowe’s in the area. He would have been devastated if he didn’t get to make this one. The rest of the day we are hanging out at home.

Sunday-Another day of hanging out at home.

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
