Manic Monday

Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week.  Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans. I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.

This Week

Monday-P has school in the morning.  S has his last Eco Club meeting after school.  My plans for today are to work on the decorations for S’s birthday cake.

Tuesday-Today is S’s 9th birthday.  He has Tech Club in the morning before school.  After school he needs to get his homework done right away because he has reconciliation for catechism at 5pm.  I am going to ask his teacher if he can go first or close to the front so we can get out of their quick because we are celebrating his birthday after dinner.  We are doing cake and ice cream.  This year he picked a banana cake and banana frosting.  I have made it before so at least I know how to make it.

Wednesday-P has school and her Christmas program.  I loved when S had his at this age.  It is so much fun to watch all the kids stand at the front of the church and sing songs.  The rest of the day we are just going to hang out home.

Thursday-No plan for today.  Maybe P and I will make Christmas cookies.  I haven’t made them yet and need to get a move on it.

Friday-P has school in the morning.  If we made Christmas cookies yesterday then I am going to plan on decorating the cookies with the kids.  I used to buy my sprinkles at Target in the dollar spot for every holiday.  A few years ago they did away with the sprinkles and I totally miss it.  I hate spending a ton of money on sprinkles and loved when I could get them for only $1 a container.  For that size at another store I would pay $3-5 a container.

Saturday-P and I are going to the library for princess storytime.  This month is the “Snow Queen.”  When I did a little research on Laurel Princess it shows the “Snow Queen” is Elsa.  I really hope it is and P will be so excited about it.  I have prepared her in case it isn’t but fingers crossed.

Sunday-Nothing going on today, so maybe we will decorate gingerbread houses?  S will take forever, and P will try to sneak as much candy as she can.

Last Week Recap

Monday I did keep S home from school.  He needed another day to recuperate before I sent him back to school.

Tuesday we didn’t have anything going on.  S did not have catechism and we are taking the month off from piano lessons.

Wednesday P had school in the morning.  In the afternoon we got ready to get family pictures.  They turned out amazing and I cannot wait to get them this Friday.

Thursday I went to the dentist appointment for Smile Direct Club in the morning.  Afterward I met my dad at the store to shop for the kiddos Christmas gifts.  After the kids ate dinner we went to Build-A-Bear for S’s birthday.  They each get to make one for their birthday until they are 5.  After that if they don’t want to go anymore they don’t have to.  S said he would go but if he couldn’t find something he liked he wasn’t going to get one.  No worries he found, Yoshi.  When we got home we started going through all of the toys in the playroom.  We always purge before S’s birthday.  It falls at the right time before his birthday and Christmas.  It also works out great to donate toys at that time too.

Friday P had school and we just hung out at home all day.  It was a pretty uneventful day of hanging out at home.

Saturday was another day of not doing a whole lot.  We did continue to work on the playroom.  B and S finally went through all of the Thomas the Train stuff and decided what he wanted to keep and what we could get rid of.

Sunday we hung out at home.  My sister came over with Little A to visit.  It worked out better because it would have been too hard for them to come Tuesday night for S’s birthday.  This way the kids got to spend more time playing with Little A which they would not have been able to do on Tuesday.  I worked on making frosting and coloring it so I could start the decorations for S’s birthday cake.

Last Week

Monday-I am planning on keeping S home from school.  He just needs a day of recovery and regular eating before he can go to school.  P has school in the morning and the rest of the day we are just hanging out at home.  I am going to be washing tons of blankets.  Anything that S used when he was sick or possibly touched.

Tuesday-S has tech club in the morning before school.  P is getting her very first haircut in the afternoon.  I am excited and nervous.  She needs a little trim off the bottom, but I am so afraid she is going to lose her curls.

Wednesday-P has school in the morning.  After dinner we are finally getting our Christmas pictures done so I can make and send out cards.

Thursday-We don’t have any plans, so just S going to school and us hanging out at home.

Friday-P has school in the morning and no other plans.

Saturday-Nothing is happening as of now, but I am sure something will come up.

Sunday-S’s birthday has snuck up on us, so I am going to need to start work on making a cake.

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
