Manic Monday

Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week.  Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans. I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.

This Week is a pretty typical spring week for us.  Finishing up some stuff and starting new stuff.

Monday-We have no plans for today.  P and I are going to my friends in the morning, and then just hanging out at home.  It is supposed to be nice, so I imagine at some point we will be outside.

Tuesday-S does not have school because there are primary elections.  Since they use the school as voting locations they do not have school.  P is going to play at Grandma G’s while S and I go to his catechism class to make rosaries.  I’m kind of excited about it because once I know how they like them made then I can volunteer to make them at home.  It seems like something I can easily do while I am watching TV.  B is getting the skid steerer from his uncle to start working more on the pool.

Wednesday-P has story time in the morning.  P has a baseball game after dinner.  He is skipping his soccer practice because games take priority over practices.   But soccer games would take precedence over baseball games.  It’s all about what he likes more.

Thursday-B will be working on stuff around the pool.  P and I are hanging out at home.  S has his first school music program in the evening.  He says he has all the words memorized and does not need to work on the songs with me.  We will see he tends to hum loudly the notes when he does not remember words.  He also has a small speaking part.

Friday-Today is only supposed to be a high of 59°.  We have no plans and B is off working on the pool stuff.  In the evening, there is Family Fun Night at S’s school which is like a mini carnival for the kiddos.

Saturday-A has a soccer game in the morning and then S has a game right after him.  If either scores a goal it looks like we are going for ice cream at some point.

Sunday-It’s Mother’s Day.  We are going to my dad’s for a cookout.  B is working on the pool stuff all day.

Last Week Recap

Monday S had baseball practice after dinner.  I hung out at practice and read a little and worked on the computer.

Tuesday S had his last catechism practice after school and a soccer game right afterward.  S tried everything possible and came close but he never scored a goal.  It was super nice out for the game which was awesome.

Wednesday P and I gambled and went to story time hoping we could get her in the class.  They saw us on the waiting list and had already made a name tag for her.  She was so happy to get to go.  We were both surprised when a few of her friends from our old mom group showed up for story time.  She was ecstatic to see some of her friends.  I thought S had soccer practice and then baseball practice so I took P with me so she could play at the park.  Well right before I was supposed to get S for his baseball practice I double checked and had flipped his baseball and soccer schedule.  He had baseball first and soccer second.  He totally missed his baseball practice.  At least I know it was a make-up practice for one of the cancelled practices due to weather.

Thursday my sister came over to hang out for a while.  P got to play with her cousin.  We had no plans in the evening and this was the only day S was going to have that nothing was happening.  I had to make muffins for Poetry Café.  The first batch I made did not come out of the muffin pans so I had to make an entirely new batch which totally sucked because I had to run to the store to buy more muffin mix.

Friday B and I went to Poetry Café for S in the morning at his school.  It was a cute little performance of all the kids reading poems they memorized.  P went to my friends for a playdate.  I ended up hanging out for a while when I went to pick her up.  When we went home I was going to take a nap while P was running errands with B.  I ended up getting a call from S’s school.  He was not feeling good and wanted to come home.  No problem I went and got him.  Well I found out the school had no electricity, a transformer blew.  S was at lunch when it happened and I guess some of the kids screamed when it happened.  That must have been enough to scare him and with not knowing what was going on he didn’t feel good.  When I brought him home he hung out with me watching a little TV.  I told him if he felt okay he could go play.  He said he felt better after he got home, was eating and drinking well so I let him play like normal.  B and I went to see Chris Young in concert.  It was a great concert and had Kane Brown open for him.

Saturday we got up early and went to S’s First Communion.  Afterward we went home and hung out until it was time to go to S’s first baseball game of the season.  I get to keep book and am super excited about it.

On a side note….Friday night was a super long night because the kiddos did not want to sleep.  P woke up first and slept with us for a while.  Eventually I had to get up and go to the bathroom which woke her up.  No matter what she wouldn’t stop fussing after that and asked to go back and sleep in her bed.  Of course, she can sleep in her own bed and I reclaimed my half of the bed for about 45 minutes.  S came in next telling me his stomach hurt and he felt like he was going to be sick.  I went and got the trusty container just in case and shared my half of the bed again.  About 6:30am he finally did get sick.  I told him he had to do his First Communion no matter what.  He asked if he could skip baseball.  I said yes.  At this point I would have told him anything.  He said he didn’t feel sick, but was just really nervous.  Awesome anxiety got the better of him two days in a row.

Sunday was a recovery day from the long week.  P and I went to my cousin’s baby shower.   Her dress for the shower was amazing.  I have never seen anything like it, a Grecian god.  I only wished I looked that good pregnant (really not pregnant, too).  P had a blast playing with her cousins and all the other little ones.  S ran errands with B and was playing in the sandbox when I got home.  We played outside off and on depending on the rain.  After dinner we went over to B’s parents because they have a duck that layed eggs in their backyard.  Unfortunately we couldn’t see the eggs because the momma duck was sitting on them, but still.

Last Week

This Week is going to be super busy.  We have all kinds of stuff going on.

Monday-It is going to be super nice out so we will be spending time outside.  P and I are going to my friends in the morning so P can play with other kids. I am watching Baby L for a few hours after naptime.  S has baseball practice after dinner.

Tuesday-S has typing class before school.  B and I along with P need to go pick up S’s 1st Communion gift that we ordered last week.  After school S will get a quick snack that he and I have to go to his last 1st Communion practice.  We will leave right from there and head to a soccer game that got rescheduled because no one could make it this Saturday.

Wednesday-P has storytime in the morning.  Technically we are on the wait list but we are going to show up and hope for the best.  S has soccer practice after dinner and will go straight to baseball practice.  They overlap so he is missing some of the baseball practice since it was an additional practice added.

Thursday-S has typing class before school.   We don’t have any extracurricular activities going on after school so it will be all about finishing homework and playing outside.  I have to make mini muffins I volunteered to make for S’s class for tomorrow morning.  I am sure P will help me do that.  I made cookies for his 1st Communion party but since we are not having one I am not sure if I will frost them or keep them for another week until Mother’s Day.

Friday-S has Poetry Café in the morning which B and I are going to go to.  My friend is going to keep P and that means she gets another playdate which she is excited about.  I have to make sure everyone’s clothes are ironed and ready for tomorrow.  B and I are going to the Chris Young concert in the evening.

Saturday-S has his 1st Communion first thing in the morning.  We have to be there by 8:30 and it starts at 9am.  The only good thing is there is another mass that starts at 11am so I know we will be done by 10:30am.  We may take S out to eat afterward.  His soccer game was rescheduled for Tuesday so thankfully we no longer have that.  S does have his first baseball game in the afternoon.  I am pretty sure we will just be hanging out at home that night from pure exhaustion.

Sunday-Today is going to be a complete recovery day.  We have no plans and I don’t plan on making any.
