Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week. Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans. Since I now have two little ones to take care of I am going to post weekly goals for myself to try to hold myself accountable. I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.
This Week
Weekly Goal-This week I need to get everything ready for S’s Christmas party at school on Thursday. I volunteered to do a bunch of stuff for it. (I also volunteered May and B to help me!)
Monday-We are just hanging out at home today. I am going to try to run to Target to return a few items if I get a chance. We got a ton of snow so I am not sure is S is going to have school. If not we are going to try to have the neighbor boys down to play.
Tuesday-P’s playdate got switched to Tuesdays, so we are going to that in the morning and S has catechism class after school. After catechism the kids are going to make clay ornaments at May’s house for Christmas.
Wednesday-Today is going to be busy. B is working so Grandma G is coming over to watch the kids so I can go do a painting with my sister for her birthday. I have to get everything ready for S’s Christmas party tomorrow at school. Hopefully I can get this all done during the day so I don’t have to stay up late and get it done when I get home from the painting class. I have to make a ton of frosting, cut out hearts, and more.
Thursday-I need to finish up getting anything ready for the party that I didn’t already. I have S’s party in the afternoon while P is taking her nap. S is either going to ride the bus home or go home with me. It all is going to depend on whether the kids make a huge mess decorating cookies during the party. The kids and I need to pick up my niece later from school.
Friday-S starts his winter break so it is the beginning of a long three weeks! I am going to do my best to get S’s 7 year old pics done before P’s nap. My niece is turning the big 1-8! I remember the day she was born and cannot believe she is going to be 18. She was the first to make me an aunt and I have worn that name proudly!
Saturday-As of now we don’t have plans but being so close to Christmas I am sure it will change and something will come up.
Sunday-It is my sister’s birthday so we are going to do the Lights Before Christmas at the zoo in the evening. S has been asking to go and P loves lights so she is going to really enjoy it.
Last Week Recap
I didn’t give myself a weekly goal so that made it easy to accomplish it!
Monday we just hung out at home. Not really much happened.
Tuesday I went shopping with my dad in the morning to get the kids Christmas gifts. We were able to get it done pretty quickly. I went home and hung out with P because B worked 3rd shift the night before and was still tired. The rest of the day we hung out at home. S had catechism in the evening. When he got home we decorated a gingerbread train.
Wednesday P had her playdate in the morning. She loves to play with all the kids and really enjoys her time. I took protein bars for all the moms to try and each mom went home with a watermelon slicer. Since I love mine so much I wanted to share it will all of them. The moms were beyond ecstatic. After P’s nap and S got home from school we went to Dave and Buster’s for dinner and to celebrate S’s birthday. Afterward we went to Build A Bear for our annual birthday build. S picked a bunny this year.
Thursday we hung out at home. We didn’t really do anything. It was just a quiet day at home. I met with some of the other mom’s in S’s class in the evening to talk about and figure out the kids Christmas party.
Friday was another day at home getting ready for S’s party. I made the cakes with S and P helping. We made white and marble cake. I also made “Grinch” cookies for S’s Christmas party.
Saturday we hung out in the morning around the house. I went to my nieces’ play while P was taking a nap. When I got home it was time to start working on the cakes for S’s birthday. Since the cakes were already baked all I had to do was decorate them. Two Lego blocks shouldn’t be that hard to do and surprise they weren’t. B and S worked on building a ramp in the garage for the Lego cars the kids were going to create during the party.
Sunday was S’s 7th birthday. It was a day of rushing around and getting ready for his party despite the first snowstorm of the year. I took an hour in the morning and ran around to a few stores to try on jeans. I could use another pair and knew if I went early on a Sunday morning it would be dead. It was. I tried on 15 pairs of jeans and walked out with none. S had a blast at his Lego party. The kids all built with Legos and then raced the Lego cars down the ramp B and S built on Saturday. P had a blast and she made an entrance to the party. She slept longer than expected for her nap so there were already people here when she woke up. I got her ready in a cute outfit, pigtails, and black dress shoes. She had to show everyone the hair, ruffle on the back of her shirt, and fancy shoes. She just ran around saying, “Party! Party!” all night long. After the kids went to bed I frosted the cookies for S to take to school to celebrate his birthday. Of course I was almost completely done with them when I got the phone call saying school was cancelled for Monday. I finished them anyways just so they could be done.
