Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week. Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans. Since I now have two little ones to take care of I am going to post weekly goals for myself to try to hold myself accountable. I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.
This Week
My Weekly Goals-I would like to get all the Christmas decorations down and possibly the snowman decorations out.
Monday-My sister invited us to go roller skating so we are doing that in the afternoon. I love roller skating and am so excited.
Tuesday-Today is going to be the warmest day of the week, high 46°, so we are going to do the lights at the zoo. S loves going, and P was just a baby last year. She loves Christmas lights so I am sure she will be excited. It should be interesting because I will take her in the hiking backpack. Our zoo is not stroller friendly and never has been. The only way for her to really see the lights is if we carry her. B has a bad back so it is up to me to carry her.
Wednesday-If Target Christmas clearance did not go 70% yesterday it definitely will go today. Otherwise we have no plans other than hanging out at home.
Thursday-Today is New Year’s Eve. We have never done anything to celebrate New Year’s Eve so as of now we will just be home. The kids are in bed at 8pm anyways.
Friday-New Year’s Day. No plans, just hanging out at home.
Saturday-Home Depot has a kid’s workshop in the morning. If I can convince S to go we will and then make a quick stop at Target to check out the holiday clearance.
Sunday-I just plan on hanging out at home unless Target Christmas clearance goes 90%.
Last Week Recap
Monday we didn’t really have any plans. At the last-minute I made an appointment for S to get his birthday pictures done. They turned out great and took about 10 minutes which is a first for us.
Tuesday it was quiet around the house. We hung out while B worked in the evening S and I wrapped presents.
Wednesday we hung out at home. I made apple pies for Christmas Eve. I made three of them one went to each side of the family and one went to my neighbor. I don’t know why I waste my time. I came home with almost an entire pie from my dad’s, one-piece was gone. B would have come home with over half a pie if his dad had not taken it home. B made kettle corn and cinnamon popcorn. Everyone wants him to make it and no one eats it. P went crazy for the cinnamon popcorn at my dad’s and I ate what was left from B’s side (a huge bag). S and I wrapped presents before he went to bed. I had to run out and get P new shoes because she decided to grow out of her dress shoes this week. I came home and B and I finished wrapping and assembling presents. I worked on a few reviews and B started making popcorn. He needed a few things from the store so I ventured out at 1:30am to get them. We finally made it to bed about 5am.
Thursday was Christmas Eve. It is much busier for us that Christmas Day is. S woke me up at 6:30am because he was barking. We got up early and the kids got to open all the presents from B and me. We have been doing it this way since S was a baby. That way when B has to work on Christmas Eve or Day we can fluctuate when we open presents. Santa always comes Christmas morning, but he usually only brings 1 or 2 gifts, plus stockings. S woke up with croup and I was pleasantly surprised that his doctor had office hours. We got an appointment and S was prescribed steroids. After walking around Meijer waiting for his script to be filled we headed home. P went down for her nap while I helped B finish getting food ready and then getting myself ready. We went to my dad’s for the afternoon and in the evening we celebrated with B’s side of the family. S was super tired from getting up early and having croup that he wanted to go home at 7pm. I was home by 7:30pm and the kids were in bed by 8:15pm. That is the earliest I can ever remember being home on Christmas Eve.
Friday was Christmas! B had to work so the kids and I opened presents from Santa in the morning and hung out like any other day. They did play with their presents we gave them the day before. When B got home S got to take out his electric Razor scooter and try it in the dark. He rode it for about 15 minutes until B’s parents came over. We opened presents with them, the kids played, and then it was time for bed.
Saturday we literally hung out at home and did nothing. B and I were super tired and did not do much of anything. I started taking decorations down. With all the new toys around I wanted to get rid of some of the clutter. I like to bring out the snowmen for January.
Sunday was another day at home. B ran a few errands when P took her afternoon nap. I took a few naps here and there. We discovered that P wants to color like I do and she scribbled on a MagnaDoodle for hours.
