Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week. Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans. Since I now have two little ones to take care of I am going to post weekly goals for myself to try to hold myself accountable. I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.
This Week
Monday-It’s Memorial Day. There is a parade in the morning and then the rest of the day we are hanging out at home.
Tuesday-We don’t have any real plans for today.
Wednesday-We have a meeting at the union hall for our next strike fund relief check. I made the appointment for 8:40am so B could go before he started working for the day. Unfortunately, it looks like I may have to go in his place. To get both kids up and ready to go is not going to be a fun morning.
Thursday-Farmer’s market is today. I am hoping B will take the kids because I have my annual eye exam at 6pm. They are dilating my eyes so I will be out of commission for the rest of the night.
Friday-As of right now we don’t have any plans. It looks like we are just going to be hanging out at home.
Saturday-We have a birthday party for one of S’s cousins.
Sunday-No plans for today other than hanging out at home.
Last Week Recap
It was a weird week for us. There is still stuff all over from P’s party. We have been working on getting it all put away, but at the same time B needed to get the garden planted. We spent a ton of time outside playing all week. S had his first playdate at a classmate’s house. It went great and there were no meltdowns when it was time to leave.
Wednesday S had school and the window for AT&T was supposed to be 1-4pm. He showed up at noon. Good thing we were home. Of course, he couldn’t fix the problems with the DVR and I lost all of my recordings. That is 10 episodes of Blue Blood, the entire season on Gotham, not to mention all the movies I wanted to watch, and more. The only reason I had issues with the DVR is because AT&T did an update and somehow it screwed up my DVR. I still had all my scheduled recordings so I was okay with losing all the recorded shows. Now the AT&T guy tells me that my modem is now fried and I need a new one. Okay, unfortunately I will now lose all my scheduled recordings. Could this day get any worse? I have to leave at 4pm to go to P’s 1 year check-up at the doctors and get her shots. After we leave there I rush over to the vets to talk to the vet about PJ. P did okay at her doctor’s appointment. She didn’t like her shots but what kid ever does? After talking to the vet, we are going to keep PJ and if we ever worry about her hurting anybody or anything we will deal with it at that time.
Thursday I scheduled P’s one year pics. I had ordered from someone to have her make P’s name letters with barnyard/farm animal theme. I went out of my way to go and pick up the letters on the way to get pictures. When I opened up the letters to look at them I could not believe what I was looking at. This was safari animals not farm animals. I was so mad because now what was I going to do for one of her poses? Her pictures turned out good. We hung out at my mom’s house for a few hours afterward because she was having a garage sale. S got to play with his cousins.
Friday was S’s last day of preschool. He had a little carnival and small graduation ceremony. As a special treat for the last day of school I walked up to S’s school from my mom’s and took S’s Razor scooter with me. I thought he would really enjoy getting to ride the scooter back to my mom’s. I was right he had a blast riding the scooter. We ran to Costco after leaving my mom’s to get P’s Thank you cards. Both of them ended up eating so many samples at Costco. P tried guacamole for the first time and loved it. We ended the night going to a Mud Hens game with my sister. B stayed home and worked on the garden while I took both kids with me.
Saturday was S’s last soccer game and then we hung out at home the rest of the day. S helped B in the garden planting. I took S for a walk around the block before bedtime. He had so much fun riding his bike on a new route. Right when B and I were getting ready for bed S starting coughing like crazy, then the barking started. Yup, all of a sudden he developed croup. When he woke up we went straight into the bathroom for a steam shower. It helped some but in the end he had to go to the ER. I gave B the option to take S to the ER or stay home and sleep while P was sleeping. He chose to go to the ER because he didn’t want to have to deal with P if she woke up. (She didn’t wake up until after they had been home for an hour. I guess he made the right choice because I got to sleep.)
Sunday we had a quiet day at home. S wasn’t allowed to do much because he still had that awful bark. Once I was able to get his prescription filled and he started his steroids the barking was gone an hour later. S was allowed outside but was not allowed to run around or jump on the trampoline. Nothing that was too strenuous.
Last Week
Weekly Goal-I think this week I would just like to get this house back in order after P’s party and get caught up on posts for the blog.
Monday-S had school. With the weather being so nice we played outside in the afternoon and had dinner on the back deck.
Tuesday-S has his first playdate at a classmate’s house, and then we are going out to Maumee Bay State Park Beach so my mom and S can go metal detecting on the beach.
Wednesday-S has school in the morning, I have a window of 1pm-4pm for AT&T to come and fix my DVR, P has her one year check-up at 4:30 and we have a vet appointment for PJ at 5:30. Sometime after noon and before four I am supposed to meet up with a lady who is making barnyard themed letters for P.
Thursday-I scheduled P’s one year pictures for after her morning nap. In the evening, we will probably head up to the farmer’s market.
Friday-S has his last day of preschool. They are having an end of the year carnival and a small ceremony in their classroom. I have no idea what we will do the rest of the day.
Saturday-S has his last soccer game in the morning and then I think we are just going to hang out at home the rest of the day.
Sunday-No plans for today.
