Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week. Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans. Since I now have two little ones to take care of I am going to post weekly goals for myself to try to hold myself accountable. I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.
This Week
Weekly Goal-I think this week I would just like to get this house back in order after P’s party and get caught up on posts for the blog.
Monday-S had school. With the weather being so nice we played outside in the afternoon and had dinner on the back deck.
Tuesday-S has his first playdate at a classmates house, and then we are going out to Maumee Bay State Park Beach so my mom and S can go metal detecting on the beach.
Wednesday-S has school in the morning, I have a window of 1pm-4pm for AT&T to come and fix my DVR, P has her one year check-up at 4:30 and we have a vet appointment for PJ at 5:30. Sometime after noon and before four I am supposed to meet up with a lady who is making barnyard themed letters for P.
Thursday-I scheduled P’s one year pictures for after her morning nap. In the evening, we will probably head up to the farmer’s market.
Friday-S has his last day of preschool. They are having an end of the year carnival and a small ceremony in there classroom. I have no idea what we will do the rest of the day.
Saturday-S has his last soccer game in the morning and then I think we are just going to hang out at home the rest of the day.
Sunday-No plans for today.
Last Week Recap
I managed to get all of the stuff done for P’s party. It wasn’t done until 4:30am Saturday morning and I was back up by 7:30am for the party that started at 11am, but it got done.
Monday I called JCPenney’s in the morning to see if the photographer I like was there. Since she was not working I decided to not get P’s pictures done. I worked on P’s birthday banner and managed to get it done.
Tuesday I got a huge shipment of yogurt pouches to review. When I mean huge shipment it ended up being 126 pouches. We ran to Wal-Mart to try and get some more supplies for the party. The only thing we ended up getting was a polka dot table cloth for $.99. I also got some glass bowls from my mom for the dessert table.
Wednesday S had school and then we started working on making desserts for P’s party. The marshmallow pops turned out really cute. I was excited to make the Oreo pops and every single Oreo in the package was broken. I called B and he stopped on his way home at the store to get another pack. When I opened that pack, every single Oreo was broken. It has to be a design flaw in the new packaging because every cookie was broken the exact same way.
Thursday I worked on baking all the cakes. P’s banana cake turned out great. I ended up making 2 dozen regular size cupcakes and 4 dozen mini cupcakes. B ran to the Farmer’s market on his way home from work so we could keep working on stuff for the party. He needed to get kettle corn for the party.
Friday B took off from work so we could get ready for P’s party. We dropped S off at school, ran to Sam’s and then back to S’s school for his Dino parade. After S got out of school we headed home and I began working on decorating P’s cake, and the cupcakes. Unfortunately, Derby got hurt and we had to take care of that. When we got home at 11pm, I put the kids to bed and went back to working on the desserts for the party. Once the desserts were done, it was time to start cleaning. Since the party was going to be in the garage and outside I did a quick clean upstairs. When it was all said and done B and I went to bed at 4:30am.
Saturday we got up at 7:15am and started getting ready for the party. Everyone woke up early and it was time to start setting up for the party. It kept raining off and on all morning so set up was tricky. P was a very good girl and took her morning nap like an angel. She slept in her bed for her entire nap of 1 ½ hours. This made it possible for me to go out in the garage, set up the dessert table, bubble table, and gift table. Just as guest started arriving P made a noise to let me know she had woken up and was ready for a party. P had a great time at her party. S was a great little host for all of his cousins. The rest of the day went off without a hitch and it was smooth sailing.
Sunday was a day of recovery. We spent the morning at home and then after P’s first nap we decided to go to the mall and do P’s Build-A-Bear. We looked at all the animals to make and got it down to two and let her make decision, bunny or Yorkie. She picked the Yorkie which seemed appropriate after the weekend we had. It was the cutest little dog and I held it in my lap the entire way home. We also managed to get all of our plants for the garden. Now B just has to plant them.
Last Week
Weekly Goal: Get any decorations I want for P’s birthday made, clean the house, make all the desserts for the party, setup for the party, and run to the store to get the food.
Monday-I am debating whether or not to get P’s 1 year pics done. They have a great deal for a free wrap canvas that expires today. I’m just not sure of all the outfits she is going to wear for the pics. S has school and then I think we are going to start working on desserts and decorations for the party.
Tuesday-I am going to make the Oreo bubbles for P’s party. I would also like to get the food decorations done.
Wednesday-S has school and while he is in school I am going to run to Sam’s to get some of the food. In the afternoon I am going to have S help me make the Marshmallow fish treats.
Thursday-I am going to try and make P a banana cake for her birthday. I will bake it today and then decorate it tomorrow. I am also going to make all the cupcakes today.
Friday-S has school. One of the mom’s told me they have a dinosaur parade today (It would be nice if his teacher told us!). When S gets home from school it will be decorating P’s cake and the cupcakes. Once that is done the backyard needs set up, clean up what we can in the house, B has to clean the garage, and finish up anything else for her birthday. If we manage to get all of that done by 5pm it is Zoo Pal night. I love going to this because it is so unusual to go to the zoo in the evening and the animals are always active trying to figure out why people are there.
Saturday-S is skipping his soccer game because of P’s birthday. We are having P’s birthday party in the early afternoon. I scheduled it between her morning and afternoon nap. I assume the rest of the day we will spend recovering from the party. (I am glad I only throw a big party for their first birthday, no way could I do this every year.)
Sunday-If we are up for it we will go to Build A Bear for P’s first birthday. We have done it every year for S on his birthday. Last year S picked out a stuffed animal for P when she was born so we are going to keep it up with P. I figured they will each do it till there 5th birthday. When they turn 6 they can decide if they want to keep doing it or stop.
