My children do not mind eating the crust on bread, but do like when I change it up. I was making S a PB & J sandwich and used the dinosaur cut-outs. When I put the sandwich in front of S he had no idea what I had done to his sandwich. When I told him it was shapes he still couldn’t figure it out. I eventually took the two halves of the sandwich and put the dinosaur’s right side up. After I gave S a hint he figured it out and was totally excited to eat his sandwich. I am saving the heart cut-outs for Valentine’s Day.
Another idea is I could use the cut-outs to cut shapes out of cake and then put it them inside another cake so when you cut the cake open you see the dinosaur or heart shape. I am not sure if these are dishwasher safe so I just hand wash them.
