Legos are starting to become very popular in our house. S has been playing with the Duplo Legos for a few years now but now wants to start playing with real Legos. I love to get the Lego kits myself and build them, but just to construct stuff out of Legos is boring to me. That is where B comes in to play. He will sit there with S and play Legos like it is no one’s business.
P sees B and S playing with Legos and she wants to play, too. The only real problem is right now anything small she gets her hands on ends up in her mouth. So Legos are off limits for P right now. Lego Duplos are perfect for P.
I was lucky enough to get a few different kinds of plates to use for Legos. B would like to make a Lego table which will be perfect to keep the Legos all in the same area. The great thing about Lego plates are they are compatible not only with Legos, but Duplos, too.
I didn’t really believe that Duplos would work on regular Lego size plates, but I was surprised. I decided to mix the plates up together and play with the Duplos and Legos at the same time. It actually works great.
The bag of Brick Genius 1000 Piece Building Bricks compatible with Lego was huge. I cannot believe how many different sizes of pieces the bag contained. There were even pink and purple pieces mixed in with the other colors. The pieces had no problems attaching to the base plates. The silver Lego Duplo Compatible Baseplates came in a pack of four. The plates are 12 by 12 dots or 7.5” by 7.5” each. They worked great and I had no problems attaching the Duplo Legos to the plates. The blue Lego Table Kit has everything needed to turn the top of a table into a Lego table. This kit came with 4 plates, and Gorilla Glue. Each plate is 20” by 20”. The plates are available in blue or green. B wanted to get blue because it was different from what others would have. Until B gets a table made we are just using the plates to build on.
