So this came almost a month ago, but this pregnancy has been kicking my butt and I am lagging on getting the reviews out. I figured I better work on this one because I am pretty sure the May Glam Bag will be here this week.
With infinite beauty product combinations in the marketplace, choosing the best items for your needs can be a challenge! That was why Michelle created ipsy. Michelle and her team of stylists have selected products they love, for you to try. Each month, subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using. All for only $10 a month. I have really started to enjoy getting this subscription and look forward to every month.
This is what my package looked like when I opened my mailbox. It came in a pretty pink bubble wrap package.
When I opened the package it was a navy blue make-up bag with a record player print. It also came with this postcard titling this month as “Beauty Rocks.” The postcard contained the companies who contributed to this month and discounts available. This month had five products in it. Three of the products were full-size and two were sample/travel size. I was excited to see that all of them were of good size.
Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm-14. Acid Pink ($19)-I like that this came with a brush included in the cap to help apply the tinted lip balm. I am not sure I would want to use my finger because it did leave a little stain on my finger when I sampled it. Not really my color, it is very pink, so I will pass this along.
City Color Mousse Eyeshadow-White/Gold ($3.99)-I tend to use a silver/white eyeshadow to highlight, so I am going to give this a try. As long as it doesn’t turn my eyes a yellow and make me look jaundice I think this will work out well.
Benefit Lollitint Tinted Lip & Cheek Stain-Candy Orchid 0.08 fl oz($30/full-size 0.42 fl oz, $5.71/sample size 0.08 fl oz)-When I opened this it looked like a really runny nail polish and even had the nail polish brush. I put a line on my hand and when I tried to rub it in it simply stayed in the line I painted and would not smear any. Not my color but a disappointment when it comes to the application and blending process.
Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil-Black Velvet 0.03 oz ($30/full-size 0.04 oz, $22.50/sample-size 0.03 oz)-This was a little shiny for me when I applied it on my hand. This again will be passed along to one of my sisters.
Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes ($3.99)-I am not one to wear fake eyelashes, but my sister loves them and she will only be too happy to take these off my hands.
Make-up bag ($5)- This make-up bag said Beauty Rocks on the outside and had the print of a record playing on the outside. It is okay, not really my style, but I think my sister would love it.
All in all the total of this ipsy bag of cosmetics comes to $55.19 for the five products the make-up bag. With this bag of makeup only costing $10, I would say it is totally worth it. I think I will keep the City Gold Eyeshadow and give it a try. The rest of the products look like they are going in my giveaway make-up bucket. My sisters will be thrilled to get some of these full size products and sample products. While the make-up I am keeping does not pay for the cost of the month, it usually balances out with months that I keep all of the make-up. I cannot wait to see what ipsy brings me next month brings.
