This bottle is unique because it has a protective plastic outer shell that contains the glass container inside. Although it is not shatterproof in the sense that it prevents the glass from breaking it does contain the glass within the plastic shield. The container comes apart into 4 different pieces: the glass container, the plastic outer case, the bottom cap and the top cap. It is pretty easy to disassemble and then reassemble. I have been using this new bottle for about 2 weeks now and really like it. I have dropped the bottle twice and it has not shattered or broke.
