I wrote the previous review on another water bottle but have since seen some changes in my drinking habits so I am including the review so you can see what I was at and now what I am at.
Previous Water Bottle
I try to drink as much water as I can. Well, not really. I know it is recommended to drink at least 64 oz of water a day. I usually drink 50 oz of water in the morning by the time I get home from working out. For me to drink that I have to take 2 water bottles with me because I didn’t have a bottle big enough. I found these water bottles that hold 74 oz of water. That is more than enough to get me through a workout in the morning with a little left over.
On the days I don’t work out it can be a struggle to drink the 74 oz of water in the water bottle. I like it because it helps me to keep track and push myself to drink an entire bottle by the end of the day. I don’t mind using the bottle, there are only 2 drawbacks to the water bottle that I can find. It doesn’t keep the water cool throughout the day, and if you try to drink from the spout to fast it will make a whistling noise from ventilation hole.
So believe it or not I am running out of water at the gym. I know crazy right? My previous water bottle held 74oz and I was finding that I would be out of water before my hour long workout ended or as soon as I was done with nothing left to drink on the way home. So I found myself restricting what I was drinking so I would have enough to last me the entire hour and drive home. That just seemed silly to me and I found I was thirsty the entire day when I would do that. Also on 3 of my 5 days I workout during the week I have added on a class “The Burn” which is a lot of cardio to hopefully help me lose that little extra I have been carrying around. Those days I was refilling the water bottle before the start of the second class, but with COVID-19 it was difficult to refill it at the gym so if I could just find a bigger bottle that would solve all of my issues.
I got this FUNUS 1 gallon water bottle that holds 128 oz. That is more than enough water. If I drink that much I will be running to the bathroom before class is even over. I love that on the side of the bottle is a timeline to keep you on track for the amount of water you need to drink in a day. So if you get to 5pm and see that you are not at that point in the bottle it is time to drink-up. I don’t drink anything but water so really for me it is all about water when I want to drink something. My goal is to get to the 2-3pm time marker on 1 hour day workouts and 5pm for 2 hour workouts. On my off days it is super hard for me to drink even half a gallon of water so this is going to really help me see what I drink on those days. At the gym I will have no problem drinking out of this bottle and lugging it around, but at home not so much. I plan to keep it in the fridge to keep the water cold and just pour myself glasses out of it as needed. A great way to keep the water cold throughout the day and still track what I am drinking.
The FUNUS water bottle comes with two different types of lids which is great depending on the activity it will be used for. It has a traditional pour spout so you can drink right out of it and not have to worry about it leaking. It also comes with a straw lid and silicone straw so you can drink from it with out having to tip it over. The jug has a carrying strap on it that can also be used to hang it off of exercise equipment and an anti slip proof handle. The design on the outside is fun and an extra bonus.
