Foto Friday-A Recap of S’s Birthday!

Foto (Photo) Friday is my show and tell of pictures from the past week.  Since this past week has been all about S, so will the pictures.  We had quite the busy week celebrating S’s birthday!

  • We started off the festivities after picking S up from school and headed to Kalahari (we got there during the day but this is such a cool picture of their lights).
  • We surprised S and got L (S’s cousin) to come for the afternoon/evening and play.  It was awesome because B’s aunt brought L so she watched P so we could take both boys on the big water slides.  They had a blast together and I hope they continue to be best friends as they grow up.

  • S was so excited when he woke up Thursday morning.  He kept telling us to hurry up so he could go have his birthday breakfast.  It was a no brainer and he picked pancakes.  The waitress brought out a cakepop and candle to sing Happy Birthday.
  • We had a great time enjoying our breakfast together.  P sat in her stroller and watched us eat.  Next year she can partake in the festivities.

  • After breakfast S wanted to go back to the water park.  P was actually happy to put her feet in the water today.  Yesterday she just cried when we tried to put her in the water, which doesn’t make sense because she loves water.
  • When we got home S got to open the rest of his presents from us.  We got him the Imaginext Monsters Inc set.  He loved it and had to have everything opened right away to play with them.

  • Instead of having S’s birthday party on his birthday we went to a ceremony giving an award to the police officer who saved my dad’s life when he was in a motorcycle accident in September.  S said he wanted to go and thank the police officer and we could do his party on another night.  Well, Kalahari really wore him out and he slept through the entire event and never got to thank the police officer.  It’s the thought that counts.
  • P was awake the whole time and just kept staring at her Papa.  If he wasn’t holding her or looking at her she would pet his jacket or beard to try to get his attention.  She sure does love her Papa.  Grandma got a little time during the ceremony.  She does love Grandma’s reading glasses.

  • My dad and the police officer, Shawn McMahon.  Doesn’t my dad look great!  He has had an awesome recovery and it really is a miracle he wasn’t more seriously hurt.  We can never say thank you enough to the police officer.  Without him performing CPR, my dad wouldn’t be here now.  Here is a link to the article our local paper published.

  • Friday night we did a little party for S.  B put lights on all the barrels of the barrel train and the kids rode all over the neighborhood.  The kids had a great time taking train rides.

  • S loved all of the presents that he got from everyone.  He jumped up and down, did a few woo-hoo’s and some happy dances for the gifts he got.
  • S was so excited to blow his candles out.

  • S wanted a race track cake and when I found online pictures of the race track being the number S really liked it.  I tried to cover the cake in fondant, but the fondant did not cooperate so I went back to my tried and true, buttercream frosting.
  • We finished  the birthday festivities with our annual trip to Build-A-Bear.  S chose Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to stuff.  He loves to make the animals, from stuffing them, brushing them clean and registering them online.

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
