Carefree Crafts is a monthly kid’s craft subscription club aimed at kids 3-10. Each month you’ll get a curated package of fun crafts that you and your kids can assemble. Each month is centered on a holiday or seasonal theme, and once completed; the crafts become toys or decorations for your kids. The monthly subscription is $17.95/month
Carefree Crafts came in a padded envelope via USPS. I got the package in the mail quite a while ago. It was addressed to S, so it made his day to get a package in the mail and not just an envelope.
When S and I opened the package he was so excited to see what crafts were included. Here are the crafts included for this month. There were 6 Rainbow/St. Patrick’s Day related crafts enclosed in the Lucky Rainbow kit. It also gave a brief description of each craft and some fun Love/Valentine’s Day facts.
Rainbow Pencil Box-I like the idea of this box, but know it is going to be a gluey mess when we assemble it.
Update: S did like making this box. I let him pick the order of the sticks. There was really no rhyme or reason in his color order. S liked helping squeeze all of the glue on the box, but the minute he got glue on his hands, he refused to touch them. After that S would handle me the sticks and I had to stick them on the box. S did like picking the stickers out to spell his name.
Colorful KaleidoscopeI didn’t really know if S knew what a kaleidoscope was. When I showed him the picture he was sure to tell me that was a kaleidoscope (he didn’t say it quite right, but I got the gist).
Update: This was the first thing S picked to make and we did it right away. I had to help him with all the tape necessary to assemble the different parts, but S loved adding the beads and stickers. It doesn’t twist like most kaleidoscope, and you had to manually turn it to see the beads move. S was okay with it once I showed him.
Leprechaun Button-I thought this was a cute St. Patrick’s Day craft. I am not sure that we need to make it a button. We’ll see what S decides.
Update: S was really excited about making a leprechaun. It had a gold ribbon with it to tie under the face; instead we made a hanging ornament. We hung this from the door knob and S just loves it.
Rainbow Scratch Art-I am not even sure that S can do this. I think the stencils may be a little beyond him, but I will let him try. If he can’t do it I am just going to let him scratch any design he wants into the second one.
Rainbow Mobile-I thought S would totally be into this because he has been all about painting rainbows. I could not convince S to make this craft right away. It is a good thing, too because I had to read the directions like three times before I finally understood how to make the craft.
Colorful Wooden Tops-These look like fun. S will have a lot of fun playing with the tops. I can only imagine what he is going to do when he realizes we get to decorate the tops with markers. I didn’t tell him about the markers yet.
I was excited about the crafts we got this month and will have fun making them with S. I will put pictures of the crafts when they are completed, along with how S liked them so check back to this posting to see the final products.
