Carefree Crafts is a monthly kid’s craft subscription club aimed at kids 3-10. Each month you’ll get a curated package of fun crafts that you and your kids can assemble. Each month is centered on a holiday or seasonal theme, and once completed; the crafts become toys or decorations for your kids. The monthly subscription is $14.95/month. You can also get crafts a la carte so if you only want a few, or want certain crafts you did not receive you can buy them.
Carefree Crafts came in a padded envelope via USPS. I got a confirmation that this was shipped and totally forgot about it until I saw it in the mail on Monday. It was addressed to S, so it made his day to get a package in the mail and not just an envelope.
When S and I opened the package it was looked empty, but of course had 6 crafts this month instead of the usual 5. Here are the crafts included for this month. There were 6 American themed related crafts enclosed in the Happy Birthday, USA! kit. It also gave a brief description of each craft and some tips on explaining the Fourth of July to kids.
Patriotic Windsock-I love this craft and think S will enjoy this hanging outside (we may leave it inside so it will last longer. S will love putting the foam stickers on the windsock to decorate it. There are also red and blue permanent markers to use on it, but I am not sure how that is going to work, guess we will have to wait until we actually make the craft.
Color a USA Beach Ball-S is always up for playing with a ball, so to be able to color a beach ball and then take it outside to use in the pool he will enjoy. Again you use the two permanent markers that were included in this month’s package. I am not a fan of having S use anything permanent, but will let him for sake of making the craft and not having the markers come off when playing with the ball. (It does note on the information sheet that permanent markers are required because washable markers will not work. It also recommends using newspaper to cover work surfaces from the markers.)
Patriotic Bug Magnet-This is simply foam stickers that creates a patriotic bug. This is the simple kind of craft that I love to do with S. He has now mastered taking the backings off of the stickers and loves to do the whole craft by himself. Sometimes it doesn’t always turn out how it should, but it is a one of a kind art!
Craft Stick Flag-When I saw this on the information sheet I was like no way am I going to try and paint those popsicle sticks with S. Everything but the sticks will end up painted. Happily, when I looked at the craft all of the sticks came pre-painted and all we have to do is put the foam stars on the sticks and glue them to the ribbon to create a flag. S will love doing this and we can hang it on our entertainment center to decorate for the Fourth of July.
Patriotic Airplane-S is all about throwing planes off of the back deck (because it is upstairs the planes have a long way to go down). S will love making this plane and I think he will be able to do almost all of it on his own since it appears to be all foam and stickers.
Bonus Craft-Color Scratch Shapes-There is a flag and a star and the directions on the outside of the package say to create your own design on these fun magic color scratch shapes and use a ribbon to hang creations. I think with this craft S will do one and I will do the other one and we will compare to see how both of them turn out.
Everything came in a big Ziploc bag like past months, and it was all individually packaged. I think this is great to have everything you need to complete 6 really cute crafts. I love that they all had one theme. S and I will have fun doing all of these crafts and I like not having to search for the glue dots or stickers to complete these projects. This month’s crafts really look like they will be fun to make and I love how patriotic they all are and S will love them all. I will post pictures of the crafts when they are completed, along with how S liked them so check back to this posting to see the final products.
