Carefree Crafts is a monthly kid’s craft subscription club aimed at kids 3-10. Each month you’ll get a curated package of fun crafts that you and your kids can assemble. Each month is centered on a holiday or seasonal theme, and once completed; the crafts become toys or decorations for your kids. The monthly subscription is $17.95/month. You can also get crafts a la carte so if you only want a few, or want certain crafts you did not receive you can buy them.
Carefree Crafts came in a padded envelope via USPS. I got the package in the mail over a week ago and just have not had a chance to post it. It was addressed to S, so it made his day to get a package in the mail and not just an envelope. I love that it came on Black Friday. It was such a nice way for us to start the holiday season.
When S and I opened the package he was so excited to see what crafts were included. Here are the crafts included for this month. There were 8 Christmas related crafts enclosed in the Merry Christmas! kit. It also gave a brief description of each craft and some fun Christmas facts.
Gingerbread House-I was hoping we were going to get this. S loves to make a gingerbread scene every year. This just added to the anticipation of us doing ours soon.
Update: This was quite labor intensive and too hard for S to do. There were so many glue dots and then trying to assemble the pieces was a whole other task. When S saw it he said maybe I could do it for him. With pleasure I love making gingerbread houses real or foam.
Reindeer Gift Bag-S was so excited about making this gift bag. He doesn’t want to make it until he decides who he wants to give it to. As of right now he is unsure.
Chalkboard Sled-Our sled was green instead of red which a bummer because red is S’s favorite color. No matter, S is all about counting down the days to Christmas anyway he can. So far he is counting down the days to Christmas four different ways and this will be the fifth. Every morning he goes around and changes the numbers on each and this will be no different.
Update: S liked making this sled. Once he realized we made it a chalkboard he loved it and could not stop playing with it.
Decorate your own Christmas Tree-S was excited to put stickers on this tree and said it could be his train table Christmas tree.
Update: S loved putting the stickers on the tree. We assembled the tree first so that stickers could go across the bend and be on the same side of the tree. He was able to do this craft with very little help from me.
Ornament Trio-When I saw this I thought we would only be getting one of the three to make but was pleasantly surprised that we got all three.
Update: We had a great time making all of these ornaments. The candy cane S needed some help threading the beads onto the pipe cleaner. The pom-pom ornament we got was the stocking and S had not problem doing this one all on his own. I helped with the loop but that was it. The snowglobe ornament S was able to place all the foam pieces inside to creat the scene. I helped put all the glitter inside. The directions said to tap it closed to prevent it from opening. We went a little farther and glued the entire cap and let it sit overnight until the glue dried. It turned out great and S loves it.
Christmas Paper Chains-We have a paper chain on our big Christmas tree and thought this would be perfect to make and put on S’s little tree in his playroom. Now we just have to find the time to sit and make this.
Update: S loves making paper chains and once he knew we were going to put this on his tree in his playroom he jumped for joy. This was an easy craft to make but took both of us to do it. As long as S kept licking the part of the paper with the adhesive glue this was not a problem.
Christmas Jingle Bell Necklace-This was also another craft that may have been included in some kits. It was not in ours.
I love all of the crafts we got this month and cannot wait to dive right into them. If I could I would make them all myself but I do have to let S make them. I will put pictures of the crafts when they are completed, along with how S liked them so check back to this posting to see the final products.
