When I saw these beeswax wrap food storages I really needed to see what it was. These are reusable beeswax wraps made of cotton, beeswax, jojoba oil and tree resin.
I loved the idea that these can be used to wrap fruit, cheese, half a lemon or cover a bowl. They can also be used for wrapping snacks or sandwiches. To make the wraps more pliable you have to rub the sheet between your hands to warm it up. I tried wrapping it around a ball and it would not hold the shape or even cover half of it without falling off right away. I then tried to use it to cover the top of a water bottle and it still didn’t give me a tight seal.
The beeswax wraps are supposed to keep food fresh longer due to its antibacterial and antioxidant properties. But if I can’t get a tight seal how will it make the food last longer? I am going to try this on S’s sandwich for lunch and see what he thinks. I just have to make sure he doesn’t throw the wrap out at school when he is done with his lunch.
