I don’t ever open my eyes underwater without protection. When I was younger I always opened my eyes. That all stopped when I got contacts in high school. I was always so afraid to lose one that I never attempted to open my eyes under the water. When I got Lasik a few years ago I could open my eyes again under the water, but I still couldn’t do it.
The Aegend Mirrored Race Swim Goggles were much more suited for me. I have never seen a pair of goggles that has a clasp in the back. I thought all goggles just fit over your head. These can actually be adjusted and then clasped behind your head. It prevented my hair from getting pulled and caught in the band. It was quite painless compared to normal.
These goggles were comfortable on my face and did not squeeze my eyes. Sometimes goggles can get such a tight suction on your eyes that it feels they would pop out of your eyes. I never got water inside the goggles, and my eyes were not bothered by the goggles.
