I have been blogging for a few years now so here is a little about me.
Let’s start at the beginning, my name is Stephanie, and I grew up in a small town in Ohio. I had an average high school experience, being in many extracurricular activities. I took a year off after high school and went to work in a retail store. I went back to school graduated from a community college with a 2-year degree which took 2 1/2 years. Two years later I graduated from the University of Toledo in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources.
During this time I managed to meet Bobby (B). We were introduced by his cousin who I worked with. Our first date was a semi-blind date. I refused to go until his cousin showed me a picture of him. Once she showed me the picture the rest was history. Our first date was nothing out of the ordinary, we went with his cousin and her boyfriend, played pool, went to a playground and played, and went back to his cousin’s house and talked until like 4 a.m.
We got married right before I graduated from college in February of 2004. It was planned ahead, but the two of us flew to Hawaii and got married on a cruise ship. It was awesome and we loved it. We did some amazing things on our honeymoon, downhill bicycling, ATVing through the beautiful mountains and lush greenery of Hawaii, and of course swimming in the beautiful blue ocean.
When Bobby (B) and I moved in together that first Christmas he got me a cat which we named Neezer. Neezer ended up being a huge male barn cat. At his heaviest he weighed in at a whopping 28 lbs. Neezer became a diabetic when he was five, but it never stopped him. Sadly, he passed away from old age right before Piper turned one. The following spring we got our first dog Pudge who died of cancer when I was three months pregnant with Sawyer (S). She got me through the first three months of nausea and we laid around together being sick. It worked out great, I got to spend quality time with her the last months of her life and she saw me through the beginning of my pregnancy. For my college graduation I got a beautiful little Yorkie, Derby, who turned out to not be so little. She was a 16 lb Yorkie who is about 4 lbs overweight and anything but calm. She got hurt the night before Piper turned one and had to be put down.
After five years of marriage and working at a wonderful job at a local cable company in HR. I got pregnant with my son, Sawyer (S). He was born before Christmas in 2009. After he was born I made the tough decision of leaving a job I loved to raise a son I have wanted forever (Not really a son, just a child. I thought for sure it was going to be a girl and it took some time to accept it was a boy.). I have now been a stay at home mom for and loving every minute (most of the time).
When Sawyer was about 5 months old Bobby (B) wanted another dog and we went on a hunt at the dog pounds and Humane Society’s for a dog that looked just like Pudge. We couldn’t find anything and posted a picture on Craigslist. Within 10 minutes someone had sent us a picture of a dog at our local dog pound. We went and saw her and the rest is history. We now have another dog that is a month younger than Sawyer (S) and we call her “PJ” (Pudge Junior). She is a good dog, stays with us, does not run away, listens well, and loves to be hyper and jump on all are visitors at our house.
I started this blog when Sawyer (S) was about 2 ½ years old. I wanted a way to document our daily life and let others know about the good deals I found. I love to scan websites/blogs looking for great deals at stores using coupons, and clearance deals. Since coupons have become a national obsession, it is harder to find great deals so now I have taken to trying to see how much free stuff I can get from companies. Every day I scan a few select websites and see if there are any samples or freebies being given away. I spend most of my days playing with my kids, catching up on my TV, scanning the Internet, and not cleaning up my house. (That is an inside joke, because I hate to clean.)
It was quite a surprise when I found out I was pregnant with our daughter, Piper (P). It took a while to get used to the idea of having another baby, and then to find out it was a girl. How was I going to do a girl, now that I was so familiar with a boy? I quickly found out in Spring of 2014 when Piper (P) was born. Piper (P) was a sleepy baby and slept most of the first year (no joke she was 6 months old before she was awake more than four hours a day). Piper (P) has been full of surprises and earned her nickname “Mowgli.” She is wild and we joke she came from a jungle. If she didn’t look so much like B and me and just like Sawyer’s baby pics we would be convinced she wasn’t ours.
And for now that is all about me. Of course, there is more, and as time goes on I am sure I will let you in on more.
I always reply to all comments, sometimes you may get it back in email, but responses are always on my blog.
