You know how they say that the washer ate one of your socks? Well that is no longer an issue in our family. I think the biggest problem is with P’s socks being so tiny they can get lost in the craziness of dirty clothes. I hate when I go to match her socks up and she only has one. I know I threw both of them in her dirty clothes. Sometime I am lucky enough and find them inside another article of clothing. Most of the time the socks go to sock heaven never to be seen again.
Lingerie bags are a great way to prevent losing little socks. I used one with S and never bought one for P. When I got the 3-pack of Lingerie bags for Laundry I knew it was for me to start using on P’s socks so I don’t lose anymore. With three of them I was able to take the smallest and hang it in P’s bedroom on her hamper. It makes it so convenient when I am putting her clothes in the dirty clothes hamper I just toss the socks in the bag. Since I hooked the bag on the hamper when it comes time to actually do the laundry I never forget about the socks because they go down to the basement with me!
The other two bags I figured I would use for bigger items. The medium size one works great to wash my bras in so I don’t have to worry about them getting wrapped and tangled in other clothes or the little hooks getting stuck in the washer. If you’re a woman you know what I am talking about. The large bag I have used to wash my swimsuits in. They don’t really need to be in there own bag but it makes it so much easier when it comes to hanging them to dry. I no longer am searching through the wet clothes to find that one piece of swimsuit so it doesn’t go in the dryer. I simply pull the bag out of the washer and hang all the pieces up. It gives me the confidence to know I am not missing any swimsuits that are going to shrink or fade in the dryer.
