I got a chance to review a 12-cup Silicone Cupcake Pan Set and thought it would be a good time to make cupcakes with just P. When I opened this set up I loved everything that was included. There was the cupcake pan, cupcake liners, silicone spatula, and basting brush. I decided to try making cupcakes two ways. I made six in the silicone mold and just sprayed Pam in the cups so they wouldn’t stick, and the other six I used the cupcake liners that were part of the kit.
When P and I were mixing the cake mix we used the spatula provided and it worked like a charm to clean the sides of the bowl. P and I decided on strawberry cupcakes to match the pink pan and hearts on the cupcake liners. Since Valentine’s was just a few days ago why not. I filled each cup about 2/3’s the way full. I cooked them for the recommended time of 21-24 minutes.
I find with silicone molds that the bottoms tend to burn or get cooked more than the rest of the cupcake. This pan was no exception. The bottoms of the cupcakes were a tan versus pink like the rest of the cupcake. They didn’t have a burnt taste to them and I definitely ate my share of them. The cupcakes came right out of the silicone mold and the mold washed with no problems. Honestly, I am excited to make more cupcakes with P while S is at school. She is very animated and excited to help.
