I found a deal last week where I could try the sample bundles from the Honest Company and get free shipping. This is what I have been waiting for. I jumped at the chance and got the Diaper & Wipes Bundle.
Diapers & Wipes Trial Bundle
The diapers are natural and gentle made of sustainable harvested pulp, natural odor-inhibitors, and plant-based materials. No risky fragrances, lotions, or latex. The diapers are ultra-absorbent with superior performance and moisture retention. They have a premium fit cloth like feel, contour elastics, and stretchy re-fastenable grip tabs. There are stylish patterns for boys and girls.
I opted for the boy patterns and liked them. When I showed them to S he thought they were neat. I don’t think they are any different in feel or texture compared to Pampers, other than price. These are way more but you do get them delivered to your door every month.
Diapers
The wipes are thicker, stronger, more absorbent and softer medical-grade cloth. They are embossed and interlocked for extra loft & softness & easy, pop-up dispensing. The wipes are gentle, yet effective ingredients gently cleanse and soothe with plant extracts that promote healthy skin. They are infused with a botanical blend of pomegranate (antioxidants), chamomile & cucumber (to soothe), and masterwort leaf (to moisturize). The wipes are biodegradable, hypoallergenic, chlorine-free, medical grade cloth and sustainably harvested.
The wipes are definitely thicker than Huggies wipes. (I used Huggies wipes so that is what I compared them too.) They did have a great texture, but the smell was a complete turn off. When I buy Huggies wipes I buy unscented so I guess I thought it would be a clean smell or really no smell at all, but far from it. There was no floral fragrance; the best way to describe it is hospital smell. The wipes really had an alcohol disinfectant smell to them. I don’t think I would use these because the smell to me is a complete turn off. If it is a smell I don’t like there is no way I am going to use it on my baby.
Honest Wipes
Overall, I was not overly impressed with the diapers or wipes. I love the patterned diapers and they would be great for the summer, but they would have to be the best diapers ever for me to stray from Pampers. I would be tempted to try them if someone bought them for me, but I don’t think I could justify the cost of the diapers. Maybe if I was a green person. I recycle, B grows lots of veggies and fruits, but that is about the extent of it for us. The wipes were a big turn off for me and I would definitely not buy them. If I was given them as a gift I would probably only use them to wash hands with or wipe a surface clean. No way is that going on any baby’s hiney of mine.
