I applied through Mom’s Ambassador Moms Meet to try this product and review it on my blog. I was happy when I received an email telling me I had been selected to try the Gutsy Chewy supplements and expect a package in the mail. Since I have been having such bad heartburn during my pregnancy I decided to give these a try. I normally use Tums, but if these were more effective or lasted longer I was all game for them.

I received a package in the mail of 6 tubes, 3 Citrus and 3 Wildberry tubes each containing 8 tablets. The next day I got another 2 tubes in the mail one Citrus and one Wildberry tube. I guess they either forgot to ship them all at once or had an oops when they were shipping them. When I got the tubes I was really interested to see what kind of tablets were in the tubes. Since the name is Chewy, I was thinking they would be some kind of chewy tablet. The directions say to chew the tablet for as long as possible. When I opened the tube and inspected the tablets I was totally wrong. They looked just like Tums only a little bigger.
Of course, that night I got heartburn again after eating dinner. This was the perfect time to try them. I ate two of the tablets and to my surprise they were gritty and powdery (just like Tums), not at all chewy like I imagined it would be. I had the Citrus flavored tablets and did not mind the taste at all. Almost immediately I noticed relief. I would say within 3-5 minutes. So in about half the time it takes for Tums to work for me. There was a cooling sensation in my throat and stomach. I was so happy and relieved when they worked. The relief from the Gutsy Chewy tablets was amazing. I was sure I discovered a miracle cure to my pregnancy heartburn problems.
About two hours later my heartburn came back. This is not something that normally happens with Tums. It was not just a small case of heartburn that returned but it was back with vengeance. I tried the Gutsy Chewy tablets again and they worked just as good as the first time. Maybe I didn’t take enough, maybe I had a really bad case of heartburn, or maybe they Gutsy Chewy tablets don’t work as well as Tums. I was not sure and went to bed for the night. The heartburn did not return and I was left to wonder.
The next night again I got heartburn after dinner and decided to give the Gutsy Chewy tablets another try. I tried the Wildberry flavored tablets and did not care for the taste at all. The Wildberry flavor reminds me too much of medicine, so I think I would pass on the Wildberry flavor and just get the Citrus flavor. I ate two tablets and again had almost instant relief from the heartburn. I loved that this relief was almost instantaneous. Two hours later, unfortunately, the heartburn came back. I decided at this point that these were not working for me and gave up.
I went back to my Tums for heartburn relief. I guess for me I would rather have 10 minutes of discomfort when I initially get heartburn then have it come back again and again in one night. For me the Gutsy Chewy tablets did not work. Now that I am not pregnant anymore, if I should get heartburn I think I would give them another try. I never had heartburn before I was pregnant and have not had it since, so I am not sure how much use I will get out of the tablets.
