I was so excited to order a 3-month subscription to BarkBox. Since we had S, 3 ½ years ago, the dogs have got neglected. When the dogs started going after S’s toys we had to get rid of all of the dog’s stuffed toys. When S started going after all of the dogs toys to chew on, we had to get rid of the chew toys. When I saw that they had subscription boxes for dogs, I bit the bullet and bought a 3-months subscription to BarkBox for $49 from fab.com.
The BarkBox shipped USPS. I got an email last week saying that it had been shipped so I was surprised when I opened my mailbox today and there was a box in it. So the box was small enough to fit in my mailbox along with my other mail.
When I told B we got the box he wanted to open it. I think he likes to get boxes more than I do. B wanted me to put the box on the ground and see what the dogs did. So I did and they sniffed that box moving it all around the room. After I let them nose around in the box I got a chance to look at the items in the box.
This month’s box is a celebration of all the things we love about being outside. Whether it’s picking fresh fruit, dusting off the barbecue, or taking the opportunity to eat lunch in the sun, BarkBox knows your pup is enthused as you are! I loved that the back of the information card gave some information on each of the companies. Here is what was included in the box:
Loving Pets Grill-icious All Natural Beef Treats ($7.99) – I loved the dog on the front of this package. This box was for small dogs, so when I saw these treats were bite size I was happy for Derby’s sake. That dog would try to eat something as big as she is. I let PJ and Derby each try one, Derby ran off to eat hers and PJ stayed right next to me. When PJ was done she turned her head like okay I am ready for the next. When Derby saw that she started whining for more, too.
Bocce’s Bakery Green Juice Biscuits ($9.49) – These biscuits are made of Spinach, Kale, Apples, Spirulina (?), Mint, Flax Seeds, and Lots of Love. These are supposed to be vegan. Vegan for a dog? I don’t think Derby would know what to do if she didn’t get to eat scraps of meat. I let them both try one of these biscuits. Again they ate these with no complaints and were looking for more.
Barkworthies 6” Odor Free Thick Chew ($5.19) – This chew stick will be for PJ. Derby lost a few of her teeth when PJ was a puppy because of too much tug of war. Although Derby would love to eat this, I try to keep hard bones away from her. PJ will thoroughly enjoy this.
Barkworthies 6” Natural Treat Stick ($2.89) – This chew stick is right up Derby’s alley. It looks like it should breakdown easily for Derby to enjoy.
Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff Produce (raspberry) ($6.99)-I thought this was a raspberry before I even looked at the tag. I tried to bounce this and it really does. Since it has the bumps all over, it goes crazy. This is too small for PJ to use, because I am afraid she would swallow this. Derby is not much of a fetch dog, but we shall see what she does with this. My hands smell minty from handling the raspberry. Maybe this will help Derby with her breath.
All totaled this box came to $32.55. Seeing as how I only paid $16.33 for the box with my deal through Fab.com, I would say I came out ahead. If you sign up for a 6-month subscription it is only $18/month. If you’re interested in subscribing to BarkBox or learning more just click here!
