Manic Monday

Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week.  Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans.  Since I now have two little ones to take care of I am going to post weekly goals for myself to try to hold myself accountable.  I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do.

This Week

Monday I am going to try to take P trick-or-treating to the Maumee businesses in the afternoon.  I would normally take S but since he gets out of school later we would never have enough time.

Tuesday is Halloween.  There is no catechism or piano lessons.  We are going to go to my sister’s so the kids can trick-or-treat with their cousins.

Wednesday I am not sure if we have play group.  I know that P and I are going to Target and Meijer as soon as S gets on the bus to look for an Elsa costume.  She wants HO HO HO to bring her one so I am hoping to get one half off.  Somehow I have to get it without her seeing.  Plus if we can find an Elena costume or Anna we will get those too.

Thursday Based on the weather I am planning on taking down the little bit of Halloween decorations we have outside down.  If it is really nice I may try to hang up some Christmas decorations outside when S gets home from school.  Decorating outside is all going to depend on the weather.

Friday I am sure I will be making a run to Target to check and see if the Halloween went 70% off.

Saturday If I didn’t run yesterday to Target with P I will run today by myself since B is off.  Otherwise we don’t have any plans. Maybe we will get out some Christmas decorations.  Yup you heard me correctly, CHRISTMAS!  I love to decorate.  We won’t put up the tree yet but who says we can’t decorate the house.

Sunday If the Target clearance went 70% of Friday I will run today and see if it went 90%.  I am betting that it will go 90% on Monday morning.  That is usually how it works.

Last Week

Monday P and I took Dinky to get her stitches out.  She did well in the car until we were on the way home and she got sick all over the seat.  The one time I didn’t bring a towel for her to sit on or put her in the cat carrier.

Tuesday is always busy when S gets home from school.  He barely has a chance to eat a snack before he has to go to catechism.  Right after catechism he has piano lessons and then comes home to do homework and straight to bed.

Wednesday P’s play group was cancelled so we hung out at home during the day.  We did go down to the neighbors so P could play with the kiddos in the morning.  It was kind of a replacement for not having play group.  We didn’t have anything planned for the evening so we hung out at home.

Thursday P and I went to Costco and got the Halloween pics.  In the evening, we were watching a couple of friends kids so B and I took all four kids trick-or-treating at a local nursing/rehabilitation home.  The residents were handing out candy to all the kiddos.  The kids had fun.

Friday S didn’t have school so he got a day of rest.  He hung out in his pajamas in the morning and then played outside for over 3 hours with one of the neighborhood boys.  P and I hung out and waited for the pool guy to come and close the pool for the winter.  I thought it would take him a while to do it, but he was done in less than an hour.  B had to work late so it was just the kids and me until bedtime.  They got to see him for about 5 minutes before they went to bed.

Saturday we ran to Costco in the morning.  We had to look for the Anna/Elsa sweatshirt that they didn’t have in her size at the other Costco.  We found it a size to big but got it anyways.  It is better than 2 or 3 sizes too big.  Afterward we went to a Halloween party a local funeral home puts on every year.  The decorate the whole funeral home, have a clown who makes balloon animals, face painting, petting zoo, candy and treats all over and if you bring a canned good to donate you get a pumpkin.  This is how we get pumpkins every year and why we have never paid for one yet.

Sunday we hung out at home in the morning and because P took a nap yesterday I told her she could skip it today and go to a Halloween parade.  The Rossford Deca puts on this parade every year.  A lot of the kids get dressed up in their costumes.  Mine choose to just wear Halloween shirts which is fine with me.  It was pretty chilly this year so we had to bundle up.

Monday-We are taking Dinky to get her stitches out from getting spayed a few weeks ago.  Otherwise we are just going to be hanging out at home.

Tuesday-We don’t have any plans during the day but after S get homes from school it will be a busy night.  There is catechism, then piano lessons, and then parent/teacher conferences.

Wednesday-We have P’s play group in the morning, but that is it.

Thursday-We are going to do trunk-or-treating in the evening.  The kids love doing it.  I love that if we do this and it is really crappy weather on Halloween they don’t care about trick-or-treating and we can skip it.

Friday-No plans as of yet.

Saturday-There is a Boo-tober festival uptown during the day.  We can do trick-or-treating to all the local businesses, pumpkin carving.  There is also a Halloween party at a local funeral parlor.  They do it every year.  They decorate the funeral home and the kids can walk through.  There are all sorts of activities to participate in and if you donate a canned good you get a free pumpkin.

Sunday-I think today we are just going to be hanging out at home.  Since it is so close to Halloween who knows we could end up doing something.

Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be any great writer. So any mistakes that are made are my fault. Sometimes I mix up names B, S, and P, but I think you can figure out who I am talking about. If you find any grammatical errors just fix it in your mind so it sounds right.
