This is my second set of chalk markers I have received. I really wanted to compare them to the first set to see how they were the same or different. The Beary Genius Neon-Liquid Chalk Markers come in 10 fun neon colors. When you write on a black chalkboard they are neon and when you write on a white dry erase board they are primary colors. The markers have a 6mm chisel tip and 8 grams of liquid chalk. The first set of markers I had did not wash off my chalkboard because the backing of the chalkboard was wood and considered a porous surface. This time I was going to try them on a dry erase board to see how well they work.
When I used the markers on the white board they were primary colors and not neon. I loved that there were two different options. If I want neon I use a black board, if I want primary I use a white board. I loved the fact that I could use a chisel or round tip. By simply pulling the tip out and flipping it over I can use the other tip. I found I actually like the round tip better. The color distributed more evenly. I tried to use different colors than I did the first time. I decided to write “Surviving As A Mom.com” again on the white board. The only problem I had was that I could not go over a letter I had already colored. When I did it was similar to a dry erase marker and erased the chalk that was already on the board.
Now came the part that didn’t work on the chalkboard. Cleaning it. I used a wet paper towel on the dry erase side and it made a mess, but came clean. I was happy to see it come of the dry erase side of the easel no problem. I also wrote “Surviving As A Mom.com” in the same colors as I did on the dry erase board to compare the difference in blackboard and whiteboard. You can see how it is neon versus primary colors. I managed to get half the “Surviving” off but could not get the “As A Mom.com” off. I scrubbed it really hard and nothing. I tried glass cleaner and could not even get a bit of color off.

Overall, I liked the markers. It’s a bummer that I can’t use chalk markers on a chalkboard, but liked the results of using them on a dry erase board.
